Fantastic

Great quiet cinema. They have some sofas to which are brilliant, if I do say so myself. Food is unique. Quite pricey for food. But cinema is cheap.

I was so pleased to see in the programme for the Cambridge Film Festival that 25 films of the festival would be coming to the Abbeygate. The box office opened to the public on 21st August but seemingly only for booking tickets at Cambridge venues. So I try to phone the Abbeygate to get information on dates and times for... More

Recently had a babyshower at the picture house. Had an absolutely brilliant time, the room itself was a great size for the party. The staff were exceptionally accommodating to our needs. Child friendly. We were able to decorate the room as we wished and there was a docking station for us to use our own music. Table cloths provided. The... More

Listen. It's not every day that I feel blown away by great customer service. If anything, I find myself seeing the flaws of it due to working with people myself. But this place... was phenomenal. I went on August 9th. My week before that was crap so I was looking for something to distract me from it. But this theatre... More

This simple little cinema-2 screens only, provides a Club atmosphere, in fact there are member discounts, to enjoy unadulterated international films. No popcorn smells, although interesting snacks & drinks are available on site. This cinema provides too the cultural live experiences from the Gran Met Opera, New York, to i night shows of occasional London Theatre & Ballet. It is... More

If you want to enjoy cinema away from the impersonal multiplexes then the Abbeygate is the place for you. The two screening rooms are every comfortable with great leg room. They have sofas available as well which are great. A good selection of refreshments is also available. The picture and sound quality are also fab.

After years of being herded in to the faceless, coparate paradise that is the multi-screen complex, I'd enough! Decided to re-visit the dirty, pokey old cinema I remember using as a kid, for a bit of nostalgia. Oh my. What a shock. It's not old and pokey its transformed in to a gorgours, locally run beacon of enjoyment. The seats... More

The Abbeygate Cinema was recommended to us and what a gem of a place. Everything you want; comfy settees, good popcorn, cold beer, un-restricted view, good surround sound, perfect temperature A/C and a warm, friendly welcome from the staff. The website is easy to use and book tickets, and their collection effortless. I will not go to another cinema by... More

If you want a comfy, intimate cinema with friendly, helpful staff & a great adjoining restaurant with lovely home cooked food then this is the one for you. "Probably the best cinema in the world".😀

This cinema is a real find! There are two screens, both very intimate with some sofa seats, cushions and plenty of room. Somehow, the films it shows are often the ones we want to see! The highlight of the menu in the restaurant is the 'build your own burger', there are so many options! By far my favourite bit is... More
