Fantastic amount on offer

Seems like a fantastic place and something I haven't seen anywhere else. Very nice area for a good walk with my dog and a jog for my wife. Wish I could do water sports!

I must say that I wasn't entirely sure what to expect of this place and was pleasantly surprised to find the water sports course and the well designed and maintained pathways and areas of grassland. Unfortunately the canoe salom course was't being used when we came but it is easy to see that it would be fun to watch it... More

4 of us went to the Barrage on a bitterly cold afternoon. The sun was bright and the river looked lovely. There was a fire crew practising rescue procedure - fascinating. A lovely place to have an interesting flat walk on excellent paths. Afterwards we went in the River View Cafe for afternoon tea. The food was all home made... More

We attended here for a canoe slalom competition in early september 2014. It was the canoe slalom junior championships. My daughter and stepson were competing. We found the set up very good although we didn't see many of Tees Barrage about. I suppose they were busy! The course itself was excellent and clean! The kids did well and definately will... More

Anyone who thinks Stockton on Tees is a less than desirable place should think again. This National Centre for White Water Rafting is lovely just to walk around and enjoy. Stockton has a plethora of bridges and the newest, the Infinity Bridge, can be seen from here. From scientific interest coming from the Archimedes Screw design for powering the water... More

We took a walk round the Tees Barrage on a Sunday morning after being out the night before and it was the perfect pick me up. We enjoyed the walk round the centre, spotting seals and watching some canoeists in the rapids. Would confirm the comments from the previous person about the Beefeater, we walked out when we saw what... More

Tees Barrage is a wonderful place and is easy to access by vehicles, bikes or even walking if you live nearby. Most people go for water-sports such as White Water Rafting or Canoeing. It's a great day out though just watching them going round in the amazingly set out water course. After the day out you'll probably spot the over-priced, expensive... More

Hi Jacob Thanks for visiting the centre and for your valuable feedback. Tees Barrage really is a great place to visit whether you’re participating in watersports or simply enjoying a stroll around the site. It’s great to hear the course re-development is also appreciated by visitors. The pub/restaurant you may be referring to is the Beefeater restaurant - The Talpore,... More

Interesting place to have a stroll round of an evening if the weather is good. Right next to the pub too!

Went to Tees Barrage this weekend for their white water course. It was excellent. I am a reasonable standard kayaker, getting back into the sport after a few years out. The course is quite demanding, but you always feel safe and there is plenty of hello on hand. The short course with its large drop at the end is difficult,... More
