This is a stunning place, and the small museum and gardens with it are a great insight to what life must have been like. Many children were running around the castle and it really did feel like it was coming to life, it depends what you're into though!

Occasionally there will be events there also. It's a good walk with plenty of mushrooms around. There's a plague pit that is now a field that dog owners use as a toilet for the slobbering staffs terriers. They have bat walks and other wildlife stuff, but - tbh - you can find more wildlife a few miles down the road... More

It was not bad at all to go to the castle for walking around. But one thing that made me bit disappointed was the castle undertook restoration when we were there. The castle didn't look that very good with the construction equipment. There wasn't access to get inside of the castle as well. But I liked that the day was... More

Very welcoming to dog walkers. Also tap for doggy drinks. I am not keen on toilets only being open when shop is open.

Great location , nice walk, good information centre but so little of castle and restricted access make it little more than an interesting walk for an hour

Nice to walk around with children and dog. Visitor centre small but children love trying on armour and brass rubbing. Staff friendly and helpful, childrens birthday parties here are fab!

It is such a good place to go if you want to see true history! I would go in the summer because you can take a lovely picnic and have a proper look around! And during the winter period they have a Shakespeare play being shown last time it was Romeo and Juliet! I wonder what will be shown next... More

Love walking our dog at the castle as there is many nooks and crannies for him to explore......It is a lovely spot in the summer or winter for walks, picnics in the summer of course and a safe place to run around while enjoying a bit of Stafford History.....Not to be missed is the annual Shakespeare festival in the summer.....

Well it may have historic value and protected those who lived there but as an attraction it offers very little with nothing to see or experience I can only suggest that you take a look around when the shakespeare festival is on which is hosted on adjoing land
