We were visiting a relative in hospital in Stafford so decided to take a detour to view the castle as we hadn't been for a few years. Plenty of car parking and a nice walk up the hill to the castle. Unfortunately we arrived quite late and the visitors centre and the castle itself was closed but we still enjoyed... More

Stafford has many interesting attractions and Stafford Castle is one of them. Worth checking out its history at the well informed visitors centre. There are picnic area's and plenty of walks. Look out for many historical events and battle reconstructions throughout the year. The annual Shakespeare plays are well worth seeing.

Used to play here as a child and now my grandchildren are following in my footsteps. We love to take my dog with us as there are plenty of places for him to run and explore. Its especially good when covered in snow and you are able to go sledging all around the castle.

It was a cold day..Raining all the time. On the other hand it was quite interesting to see. A hot day picnic would've been better.

Myself and my family had a lazy Sunday morning and the weather was nice and sunny so decided to have a walk up the castle. It was hard work walking up to the castle with a push chair but the view is worth it once at the top. There isn't much up there to do really just walk around it.... More

Excellent, clear info boards give you a good description and picture of what the castle would have looked like on the circular walk around the castle. The views are spectacular from the top and although a lot of the castle was knocked down in the 70's it is still impressive. The castle, herb garden, walk and car park are free... More

I visited with a group of 30 children today and we are due to take another class on Thursday. I can't say how fantastic the tour of the castle was and the activities that were set up for the afternoon. All of the children got something out of the day and we all learnt a great deal. A massive thank... More

It's worth the long steep walk to the castle turrets to appreciate the amazing views, well maintained and a fabulous dog walking paradise
