What a lovely and dramatical place. Only imagination can create films of the over 600 years that this interesting caste was owned by the same Luttrell family. National Trust looks well after the place and there are voluntary workers in almost every room to tell you special stories of the old days. The bathroom is interesting as well as the... More

Been here a couple of times and always taken by it. Great views, plenty to do and good value for money.

Unlike many such attractions, the inside of Dunster Castle remains quite cosy. A mediaeval castle, converted into comfortable Victorian gentry accommodation, it was well done and remains a place anyone would like to live in. The views across the Bristol Channel to Steepholm and on to Wales are pretty scenic. It does have its oddities, for example, a very of-its-time... More

The outside is beautiful, The inside is very limited.. If you are disabled you can get a chuttle bus up and down from the car park at no extra cost.

We visited as a party of friends with two one year olds and a dog. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip on the steam railway and walked the 20 minutes to the castle from the station. The village is beautiful with lovely shops so definitely worth a visit. We found the castle boring at times and we're not allowed to take... More

This castle is worth a visit if you are in the area. We had a nice day here. The castle is quite interesting but we preferred the walks around the grounds and the village more. The cafe is not very good but there are plenty of places in the village to eat.

Our second visit to the castle and it was as I rememberd it FANTASTIC!!!!especially if it's a rainy day because there is so much to see indoors. But we had a glorious day and so after a good couple of hours in the castle we had a leisurely walk around the grounds taking many photos of the wonderful exotic plants.... More

We visited the Dunster show in the grounds of Dunster Castle in August 2014 and it's apparently an annual event. The roads in to the area were jammed at around midday when we attempted to arrive so I'd suggest going earlier. The doors open at 8am. I would also suggest bringing some type of sun shield as there are very... More

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely day out here. We used the West Somerset Railway and took the 'Dunster Castle Express' up from Bishops Lydeard - bit of a discount on the Castle entry if you're planning on doing both. The castle is very picturesque although more like a stately home with some beautiful outlooks. Did get a little... More
