We took the Mad Max day tour of Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock, and the Cotswolds. We really recommend this tour. Mad Max has a small bus with big windows. We had a wonderful tour guide who provided a great narrative as we passed through Bath and the countryside. What really made the tour great is that we left Bath at 8... More

We found this company through the recommendation of Rick Steves and we liked the combination of Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle and Villages on a full day tour. Our driver was our tour guide (except for Stonehenge, which is a self-guided audio tour) and his informative commentary was supplemented by excellent prerecorded audio prepared by the tour company. Stops at Castle... More

Mad Max tour of Stonehenge and the Cotswolds was the highlight or our vacation. I took my son aged nine on this tour. We've been home for two months now and when we look back at the photos of him at Stonehenge, chasing sheep in Avebury, retracing the steps of the Harry Potter cast in Lacock, and so many other... What a lovely review and thanks so much for the photos. Knowing that we've helped to create some fantastic memories feels very special. Remembering that will help me through the days when I'm spending far too much time on the computer! All the best to you both. Maddy More

Mad Max will cart you around in style! A 15 seat Mercedes mini bus will take you places the huge tourist busses only wish they could go. Our tour guide Tim was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Enough stops so you won't get punchy in your seat yet still manages to get you to Stonehenge early enough to miss the crowds...

I have recently done the Cheddar, Glastonbury, Wells tour, and the stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock and Castle Combe tour. The guides, John and Tim, were both friendly, entertaining and knowledgable. Spoke to everyone personally during the course of the day and were happy answer all sorts of questions. Plenty of time was given at all stops, and the process of getting... More

Many thanks for joining us on two of our full day tours and for taking the time to post your thoughts. I'm glad you explored both Wiltshire and Somerset whilst based in Bath. Many people don't realise that Bath is a great place to use as a base and then you can explore from there. The Cotswolds is another place... More

Did this tour a while back. The tour driver was very friendly and informative. I had such a lovely day. We went to Stonehenge, Avebury, castle Combe etc. I really wanted to post this review as this is one of the fondest memories I have of my time in Europe. Another lady and I were the only only single travelers... More

Our driver guide Colin was both informative and entertaining. We arrived at Stonehenge before the crowds. The new visitor centre and exhibits were very informative.. The day was a nice mix of scenery, history, humor and good food ( lunch in Lacock - your choice of restaurants). Don't miss the walk with Colin in Lacock - was very interesting. another... More

We took the Mad Max tour to Stonehenge on July 1 and had a great time. Our driver, Colin, was very knowledgeable, not only about Stonehenge, but all of the sites covered on this tour. Getting there before the crowds counts for a lot in my book. The bus carried only 15 people, more personal than a big full sized... More

We had a great trip to Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and Wells. The guide was friendly and informative but not too talky and the small bus allowed us to travel some amazing roads(?) we would never have attempted on our own. The day was full but not rushed with good time allowed at all sites. One reminder to some participants is... More

Our day tour was a wonderful experience. It was easy to book on-line and pick-up and departure was prompt and right in front of our hotel (Abbey Hotel). The guide, Charles, was very informative and he made it feel like a personal tour led by a friend who was hosting us. He kept us on schedule but without feeling rushed.... More
