We took two Mad Max tours out of Bath. The first was to Stonehenge and the second to the Cotswalds. We rode in a small bus with a friendly driver each time who talked continuously about what we were passing. It is the best way to see the countryside in this area, with someone else doing the driving. The vehicle... More

We read other reviews recommendong Mad Max and so decided to give it a try. I wanted to give my 14 year old daughter exposure to different parts of England and were very, very pleased with our tour. Our first choice was the Avebury/Cotswold tour but, as that was fully picked, we instead went on the Glastonbury/Cheddar Gorge/Wells tour and... More

This tour was well worth the money and time. We got to Stonehenge before the crowds and the new audio guide was amazing! I liked that we could touch the stones at Avebury. Lacock Village is fine but truly find the time to visit the Abbey as that was a highlight for me. Castle Combe was very small so not... More

We took an early train from London to Bath, to connect with a day tour to Avebury, Stonehenge, and other sites in the area. We got to Stonehenge just as the site opened, so we avoided the crowds already starting to build when we were leaving. Then off to Avebury, which n many ways was even more interesting. The visit... Thank you Colin for an enthusiastic, informative, and educational tour! We particularly enjoyed your sense of humor and your ability to drive and talk at the same time. Meeting Christopher in Castle Combs, the prettiest town in England, was also one of our highlights. The divining rods certainly reflected your special tour guide powers. We will certainly recommend this tour... More

This was a fabulous all-day tour. We were in a minibus (16 people) with our very knowledgeable, humorous driver and tour guide (Jim). He made it a point to use many back roads to show us the beautiful countryside and its local history. Our first stop was Stonehenge (to beat the crowd) where we were given hand-held audio guides and... More

Our day tour of Avebury and Stonehenge, the villages of Lacock and Castle Comb and the amazing scenery and history along the winding roads of Whiltshire was absolutely amazing. Best small group tour I have ever been on. and we saw a few horses, white and real.

We took the full day tour: Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock and Castle Comb. Had plenty of time to explore and our guide answered all or our questions (we had quite a few!) I think we enjoyed Avebury from a prehistory point best but the Cotswold villages were awesome and we saw new thatching going onto a roof as well as many... More
