We went on a trip crewed by 2 gentlemen both of whom were courteous and helpful. One of them apparently has a talent for spotting kingfishers and sure enough, one was soon seen sitting on a branch over the water. Later on green woodpeckers and a heron hoved into view. The trip is obviously limited by the weirs in the... More

We were really disappointed with the river boat 'cruise' to Bathampton Mill. The couple who run the tour are well into their late 50's and totally uninterested in the passengers/tourists. The guide didn't speak to us the entire journey up the river and the way back gave really vague/dull facts about Bath, most of which we could barely hear because... More

We at the University of Bristol pre booked a trip on the Pulteney Princess from Pulteney Bridge. The crew were very helpful and flexible regarding the return journey times. We had a pleasent stop at Bathamton for lunch at Bathamton Mill and the George pub just up the road. On the way back we enjoyed a light hearted narration about... More

Previous reviews mention a boat with a rude woman, we saw her and her boat and waited for the next one. We caught the 12:00 boat on a Sunday if that helps anyone...they have a red sign for prices and a little sylvester cat toy near the tip cup near the stairs. Two lovely gents who offered a lovely experience.... More

I really wish I had read the bad reviews prior to booking a tour on the river on this motorboat. The negative reviews are absolutely right in relation to the guides being extremely rude people who clearly don't like tourists who are paying there wages.....the female host a woman with bleached hair in her 50s was completely rude to a... It was a lovely journey from Bathampton Mill, the guide on board was a funny man but journey back didn't even occur. We heard last boat back was at 5, turned up 20 minutes early and finally gave up after waiting for an hour! It didn't help that when you try to call the number it is "not available" or... More

We were staying in the Old Mill Hotel in Batheaston and the Pulteney Princess was our preferred method of transport to get into Bath City centre and back to our hotel. We boarded the boat at Barthampton Mill pub / restaurant, just over the Toll Bridge and enjoyed the relaxing cruise down the River Avon to the berth at Pulteney... More

Having travelled twice before on the Pulteney Princess, leaving at Bathampton and travelling into Bath I decided to do the same trip with two other grandchildren on Friday 27th June. Just to make sure the boat would be coming up as far as Bathampton and the 10.50 sailing was on, I emailed them at the beginning of the week. As... More

We boarded the boat as we were staying in Bathampton, excellent commentary guide very funny, would highly recommend £4 each much better than sitting in traffic!

Nice way to relax after your 2-hour walking tour. Sit back and watch Bath go by. Some commentary but it's mostly about enjoying the day. Good value for the money. Ryders Colorado USA
