We went along to visit the Quilting & Patchwork exhibition. This was fantastic. Well laid out and lots of information provided. We also looked around the small museum which was really interesting. I hadn't realised there was coal mining in the area. The small replica shop was very interesting.

For a rather small town museum this was a gem. The grand children really loved it. For youngsters and young adults alike it paints a picture of the area that has long gone and is barely recognisable unless you go searching for it in the batches, canal remnants etc. Mining fossils canals and railways were all so much about this... Inspirational exhibts which are sad and joyous in equal measure, it certainly made us sit up and think about the appauling conditions in which our ancesters worked. Nice attentive guides, who were there if you needed help but did not bother you if you were engrossed, this is a fine line and they should be applauded as it was only... More

This museum started life in the barn of a local and has progressed to its current premises, easy to find just a few miles out of Bath on A367. It will give you a real flavour of life in this part of Somerset with a recreation of a mine as well as a school room and the Co op. It... More

The origin of this English phrase means that you can't do the impossible, but this small and idiosyncratic museum comes pretty close. Radstock was part of the mining community and there is a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of mining, and how workers lived with their families during that time. Upstairs there are changing exhibitions. We went to one... More

This wonderful museum is well known to locals but should be promoted more actively in Bath to try and encourage more visitors. We enjoy visiting the museum for the 'special' exhibitions of art and other artefacts as well as an excellent trip to take visiting friends and family to. Helpful staff and an excellent tea room and museum shop. There... More

We had wanted to visit this museum for years - we finally went on a drizzly Sunday afternoon and found that it was really worth it. Some enchanting ladies to take your money and explain the museum and the museum itself with its many components of local history as well as the history of friendly societies. We enjoyed the Victorian... More

The Museum is well worth a visit, providing a history of Radstock and the surrounding area. In particular the staff were excellent and were happy to answer questions, provide guidance and show a real interest in visitors. In particular the school-room and the "mock-up" parlour were evocative of past times. Radstock has a varied history connected with coal, railways, and... More
