Possibly the most boring museum I have ever visited! It consists of one small room with very few exhibits of any real interest. I expected at least a few stamps to look at but there were none. The museum entrance fee of £4.50 is extortionate for an experience that was very tedious and lasted about 15 minutes. Don't bother visiting... More

Don't give up if you try to find this museum. It's in the post office itself, down in the basement. Right from the start you're welcomed to the exhibit. It goes through the various periods of postal history. The Penny Black (first sent from Bath a few days before its official launch). There's also the first contract agreement for a... More

Came across this museum while visiting Bath and couldn't pass without calling in, as my husband has worked as a Postie for 38 years! The staff were very friendly and inviting. Lots of things on display that would interest people of all ages. A good history of the postal service and well worth a visit.

An interesting find in the centre of Bath. Lots of artefacts and information which was well presented and some interactive. Entry fee appropriate for a small museum. Would recommend for anyone with an interest in history.

Great staff, interesting curiosities, and lots of info. The history of the postal service is all there. Steps down could be a problem but there is a stair lift.

This museum is situated under the main post office. The display is small but the quality of material on offer is outstanding. There was a frame full of silk postcards which we sent from the soldiers in the trenches during the second world war. The history of the postal system was explained. There were some things aimed at children. There... More

the most time you could spend in this museum is an hour if that. its is fairly priced at £4.00 they do concessions. Interesting and informative displays, arty actives for children. I enjoyed listening to the staff predominantly older gentlemen disusing stamps. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Visited around 11.30 on a Saturday morning and we were the only visitors. The museum is small and compact, there is not much to see but what is there is interesting and informative. Ideal if you've already seen the main attractions in Bath and have a spare half an hour or so to fill.

This is a small, independently run (hence the entrance fee) museum situated downstairs in the Post Office building. I wouldn't take much longer than an hour or so to look round (and that's reading all the information!) but it does provide a fascinating insight into the establishment of the postal service and Bath's contribution to this. The Museum contained information... More
