Lovely to take a stroll on a nice sunny day as we did. Walk along the river side or through the park to visit The Dingle and see the house where Percy Thrower lived in the 1950s

The quarry is a brilliant park just a few minutes walk from the town's main shopping streets. It slopes down from Claremont Hill to the River Severn and has great views across the river to woodlands and Shrewsbury School, while on the land side it is bounded by great looking old houses and the surprising, circular St Chad's Church. There... More

This beautiful park originally designed by Percy Thrower is a haven of tranquility. The walks through the avenues of trees are superb, with the backdrop of the river severn, and Shrewsbury School high above on the hill. The dingle is in the centre of the quarry and is beautifully kept with flowers, and small water features, a place to sit... More

I escorted a Group of 22 Seniors on a day long tour of Shropshire gardens. The first two were very different from each other and were thoroughly enjoyed. Then we came to the Dingle. The group were expecting to visit 'Municipal Gardens' and I knew their expectations were not high. As soon as we we entered through the east gate... More

This was a real treat - we wandered in in passing and found sweeping paths, a secret garden and a great walk along the river with fantastic views. A brilliant way to spend a sunny afternoon!

I want to return to visit this amazing space! The park is just beautiful. Such a pretty setting that is clearly looked after. The Dingle garden is a rainbow of colour and the play park has lots of activities that our 2 year old loved. Wish we could have spent more time here! It's a must if you're visiting.

With play areas for children, expansive fields, secret garden, paddling pool and river views, it's an excellent place for all the family to unwind. It's not far from the town centre, so offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the shopping area.
