The Quarry is a lovely expanse of green in the town centre, it borders the river Severn and has a mixture of fine trees, the Dingle is a garden in its own right, being the centrepiece of The Quarry next to the Victorian Band Stand... Well worth a meander around. If you follow the path from the Welsh Bridge you... More

I have been many times in Shrewsbury for business reasons and any time I find myself overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature in this little medieval town in the middle of nowhere. Take a long walk along the river, admire the reflection of the sunlight on its surface, then look at the swans which swim peacefully and undisturbed. The... More

I live in Shrewsbury but am not biased. The Quarry is the actual park, a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town, which has large grass area's for picnics, playing games etc. It also houses a play area for the younger children, a paddling pool ( in the summer months). A swimming pool near by. Lovely river walks.... More

The park is situated close to the town centre and is a large area of grass gently sloping down to the banks of the River Severn. Several events are held here including the famous Shrewsbury Flower Show. Situated in the park is the Dingle. This was created by that famous TV gardener, Percy Thrower. A large pool with an island... More

This is a beautiful park. We had great weather and lots of people using it to full advantage- either walkers, runners, cyclists, families. As a dog owner I loved that dogs could run free - no off putting signage like no dogs allowed, no ball games etc. It was exceptionally clean- no litter- and the gardens well kept and it... More
