This is a little gem of a place, tucked away in the larger parkland is a beautifully planted area with seating and small winding paths. There are some unusual and interesting plants, and the water lends a restful atmosphere. The grassy parkland has riverside walks and a good childrens play area, with plenty of space for picnicing and relaxing. There... More

We visited here on a little trip to the area and we just absolutely fell in love with the beautiful surroundings and feel of this garden. We loved wandering around and exploring new parts of the gardens. It's so well looked after and we would love to visit again in the summer. Keep up the good work.

We are so lucky to have this wonderful park on our doorstep. Every time we walk through it we admire and comment on it. From the huge open spaces to the hidden Dingle and all lined by the mighty Severn you can't tick many more boxes! A special mention should go to the talented staff who work so hard to... More

This really is the Jewel in the Crown as far as Shrewsbury attractions go, created by the towns very own Capability Brown. The 'Dingle' as this masterpiece is known could be considered Percy Thrower's very own legacy to the Town and a real must see whatever the time of year.

A beautifully maintained park and little garden- gorgeous winter walk! And lots of flowers out in the sunshine too- the upside to a mild winter.

I love this place. We used to walk here when I was younger and it hasn't changed a bit. The Dingle is a must see, the gardens are beautiful. I would also recommend following the river around the Quarry to see the local sites on the other side, including the Shrewsbury School and the Boat houses. The suspension bridge is... More

I met my boyfriend in the Quarry 9 months ago. We sat in the Dingle together. Every memory I have of the Quarry is one of joy and of carefree enjoyment. I actually cannot recommend this place enough, I mean, it's free!

'The Quarry' is a great place to visit any time of year. Having walked through the park throughout the year it's lovely to see the seasonal changes and visit the many events held every year in The Quarry. Whilst visiting The Quarry you must take the opportunity to visit a 'little gem' - 'The Dingle' is a beautiful garden retreat,... More
