Bring your camera and plan to have a sit on the bench and view the flowers and shrubs. Contemplate your life in the solitude of the park. This would be an excellent place to bring a picnic and enjoy yourself alone or with your family.

This is a large riverside park (converted from a dis-used quarry) with a well-kept sunken garden called The Dingle. I visited on a warm, sunny day in May and this was a pleasant place to see people relaxing, walking on the river path and picnicking. It is a must see in pleasant Shrewsbury.

Sunday afternoon walk in the Quarry after an excellent lunch at the Armoury nearby.Loved the river and the beautiful Lime trees. There was a band playing in the bandstand, lovely to listen to, and then on into the Dingle to sit and admire the colourful array of flowers, a very enjoyable time was had by all.

Was a lovely place to take in and relax but unfortunately didn't manage to see too much as me and a friend Sat on a bench for over an hour and just enjoyed a chat whilst taking in the lovely views and pieceful atmosphere. Defentiently worth a visit, especially with a dog!

The Quarry is a lovely expanse of green in the town centre, it borders the river Severn and has a mixture of fine trees, the Dingle is a garden in its own right, being the centrepiece of The Quarry next to the Victorian Band Stand... Well worth a meander around. If you follow the path from the Welsh Bridge you... More

I have been many times in Shrewsbury for business reasons and any time I find myself overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature in this little medieval town in the middle of nowhere. Take a long walk along the river, admire the reflection of the sunlight on its surface, then look at the swans which swim peacefully and undisturbed. The... More

I live in Shrewsbury but am not biased. The Quarry is the actual park, a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town, which has large grass area's for picnics, playing games etc. It also houses a play area for the younger children, a paddling pool ( in the summer months). A swimming pool near by. Lovely river walks.... More
