As a long time visitor, i have seen several mutations of the hill, from the basic climb and make your ownpath, to the creation of the allability traill, now the cafe and other minor aesetic attractions. It is a hill, there is a fee if you wish to use thecar park, it can be stunning, or covered in Dog mess,... More

Drove here for a walk through the bushland the "blue" walk, around 4 km. Quite disappointed, just a walk through the forest, no fauna, just a few birds. However the view from the top of the hill about half way through the walk over the countryside was magnificant. Clean trail, lots of dogs.

Haughmond Hill has had a fairly recent make over. It's a great place to go for dog walkers, joggers, cycling etc. There are several clearly marked routes to try and you can easily lose an hour or two wandering around. Some of the routes are suitable for wheelchair users and there are some separate routes for mountain bikers and horses.... More

Take some cash to pay for parking. You will find an information board depicting the various routes to choose from. They are colour coded with info explaining the type of terrain and the estimated time you'll need to complete each route. The tree roots crossing the paths could make the path rather hazardous for anyone using a wheelchair or if... More

This is one of my favorite dog walking areas! Beautiful old woodland with a network of well maintained paths. You can go mainstream, or cut off onto one of the smaller side paths for a bit of an explore. It's very easy terrain to navigate, and the view from the hill is lovely. Just watch the amount of dog poo... More

With its different colour walks and interesting facts along the way made this little walk a treat and more fun for the children, we had lovely views with maps at the top telling us where the different hills were and saw some wild life which made the kids quiet for a while listening out for them

Haughmand Hill was always my go-to place for walks and adventures as a child. With stunning views and fun walks through the woods, it was a very peaceful, harmonious place with tons of wildlife. Nowadays, it's saddening to see the amount of it that has been lost to the quarry, although it's really great to see that they have put... More

This a great escape from Shrewsbury along the canal path and then along to Uffington and up the face of the hill. Once on top you can pick dozenes of different routes that open up to breath takeing views. You can never get lost as there is a clear perimiter path and the hill sits in a road triangle so... More

There are several walks of different lengths. The cafe s basic but is good for what it does. There are activities for kids to keep children occupied while walking around.

Well managed by the Woodland trust. Dog friendly and loads of different areas to explore either on foot or by bike
