This is a wonderful house and i found the gentleman very interesting. I feel it is ver generous of the man to allow us into his home. It is almost 12 months since my visit, we are returning and I am hopeful to revisit time permitting.

We met the owner and couldn't believe how he has to fund this wonderful historical place on his own with no grant or such like. 800 years old this place, unbelievable, magnificent wood panels, a must see if you are in Ludlow.

go through all the comments and everyone comments on the owner's manner , yes he is a bit off but you go to see the house and not him , he is all part of the experience , quite frustrating for him as he is stumping up the bill to keep this little gem going without him there would be... More

When visiting the castle in Ludlow I was immediately drawn to this building. From the outside it just looks beautiful. It is simply striking. My partner and I decided we would visit Castle Lodge after touring the castle. We rang the door bell and after a slightly delayed silence an elderly gentleman opened the door. I remarked "phew, we didn't... More

Met by an elderly gentleman, the visit was quite bizarre! Left to wander whilst the gentleman returned to the private area - I am assuming he was the owner. This is a beautiful building but in need of work. Mainy empty rooms, but a few with amazing carved panels and doors. Inappropriate room dressing would be the leather sofas in... More

I loved this amazing house, the owner was enigmatic, the eclectic mix of ancient panelling and cream leather sofas just added to the whole experience. Once the home of Catherine of Aragon it is reputedly her ghost that walks the corridors. The building cries out for some tlc, if I win the lottery I'll make you an offer Mr Pearson.... More

If you like historic houses don't miss this one! The panelling is stunning, as are fireplaces, doors etc. Not much furnishing, but that would detract from the features! Only £3 to go round, so a bargain for so much history. Visit it while you still can!

It is a truly remarkable house and well worth the £3 admission. The elderly gentlemen who answered the door was very effusive about the secret the house held - that the panelling came from the long gone Nonsuch Hall. Then just when we thought we would gt a detailed guided tour he gracefully retired leaving us to roam the empty... More

Enjoyed a walk round this place very old and spooky. Elderly gentleman let us in and left us to look around ourselves. Only £3 admission.
