The pipe museum is a bit out of the way from the Gorge, but well worth a visit. When you first walk in, it looks like time has stood still, apart from the dust. We arrived and seeing such a small place had doubts to the worth of the visit, but expect to be surpriced, it really is worth seeing... More

Worth a visit if you are coming to visit IRONBRIDGE. Small museum full of history of the clay pipe. Upstairs not accessible by wheelchairs. Open late may to september

This is one of the museums included in the Ironbridge museum 'passport' (great value - 10 museums with unlimited visits for 12 months). Not sure if I would have visited the pipeworks had it not been included in the passport - and what a shame that would have been. This is the original clay pipe factory - it ceased production... More

This small museum provides an opportunity to visit a factory that has been preserved in its original form as when it was making clay pipes in large quantities. It provides a good opportunity to reflect on changes in working conditions, and also the importance of manual skills in making some products. Visitors need to be able to climb stairs to... More
