We went to the matinee of Top Hat at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield yesterday and had, on the whole, a great afternoon. The show was sparkling (apart from the female lead's voice, which on higher notes screeched). The theatre is a renovated Edwardian building and has been very attractively renovated. However, it suffers from the limitations of an older building.... More

What a show - everything you want in musical theatre. Lovely theatre with friendly bar staff and stewards who make a great first impression. Traditional styling on the interior of the theatre which is visually pleasing. Seats in the balcony had a great view, but were a little cramped and it did become uncomfortably hot in the second part of... More

The Lyceum hosts popular touring drama productions to the city and is a quality venue with a broad programme. In recent weeks we have seen and thoroughly enjoyed Blood Brothers, To Kill a Mocking Bird and Sound of Music - all high class shows. The theatre is ornately decorated and has stalls, circle and balcony. We try to avoid the... More

Recently I went there with a friend to see the musical of The Sound of Music. We had the seats in the balcony and the view were still pretty much very good. Overall it was a very enjoyable performance. The building itself is very beautiful with chandeliers hanging on the ceilings and lavish decoration on the walls. The location itself... More

Recently went to see Dick Whittington pantomime in January 2015. Very funny panto. Brilliant cast especially Samantha Womack who played Fairy Bowbells. Sheffield is also a great city with many tourist attractions.

I am a theatre fan in China but after being in the Uk for half a year, it was my first time to a theatre. I watched the classic to Kill a Mockingbird, the ambience impressed me a lot and the play was awesome! I wanna go there for several more times!
