ugc was great when it first opened, when it was a Virgin Cinema. I had a subscription and went at least once per week. I cancelled this because I got fed up with the nightmare of trying to park near the cinema. We would often have to park in the retail park next door and walk. Not so great when... more

8/10 Although its not the best cinema in England, for me it is as close as i can get without travelling half the country. I visit the cinema often simply because its the best in the area. It all goes on area for me - of course there are other cinemas in the area. But for me The UGC in... more

UGC cinemas are the place to go if you want to see new films immediately after their premieres in the London's West End. My experience there has been pleasant, getting a good view unobstructed by other people's heads, and the volume of sound was just right (unlike some other cinemas). I was so comfortable in the UGC cinema last week... more

So the staffing levels are a bit bad at the moment, who cares, The Full Monty (praise be to Richard Branson and Virgin for this) is just sooooooo perfect for epic films and virtually all the other screens would still knock spots off other cinema's "Main" screens. The other best thing about it, is there is loads of leg room,... more

When this cinema first opened as a "Virgin" cinema, it was fantastic. Some THX screens and top quality picture and sound in all screens. Since UGC have taken over, they have not bothered renewing the THX licence and the maintenance of the equipment seems to be very poor. As an ex-projectionist myself I know what work needs to be done... more

You would think that if they wanted the biggest screen in Europe they would at least get it THX certified. The seats are pretty standard and therefore quite uncomfortable for the longer movies. Don't bother phoning up because you'll be waiting forever. The staffing issue actually works to your advantage because you quite easily move from film to film if... more

I've been going to the ugc cinema since it was owned by richard branson and it saddens me to say it, but it has really gone down hill fast. Like the other reviewers say, you can get into the screens free-despite being a unlimited card holder and having a ticket, I have done this several times and I still have... more

Basically all I shoul add to the above review is that youll find that the cinema is very under staffed. And this does cause problems. However this allows you to walk straight into antoehr film showing without paying :-) more
