A good park to visit. We live closeby and its good to take the kids to stop them from playing on their playstation. Its easy to get too. The cafe is a typical park cafe and reasonable in price. It is never busy. There is play area for young kids and a pleasant lake

I am dis-appointed for a council run park, it seems clearly intended to make a profit and not to provide a service for local residents. Rothervalley consistently claims all profits are put back in to the park but considering the boats are obsolete, kit is broken, roads are in poor condition, the huts are in a terrible state, no hot... Nice family day out - ruined by the bad attitude of the staff. Whilst watching the water skiing at this family park staff were rude and appeared nothing but irritated by children doing what they should be doing. Playing and having fun. Management need to have a word with staff about customer service. Extremely disappointing.

I use the park on a regular basis mainly for dog walking, its about 5 kilometres around the two main lakes. There are plenty of cycle routes in and around the park which join the national network but to cycle around the park is pretty flat so not to taxing. There are several seating areas around the park and its... More

We had an excellent time learning to windsurf... the instructors were great.. We and another family booked a group lesson of mixed ages and had a memorable and delightful afternoon trying to navigate around the lake on a surfboard. Also hired sailing boats.. My only recommendation is for your children to wear helmets. Mine didn't and one of them got... More

Short n sharp! I usually give thorough reviews but I am sure you will get the point here..... This place is good for cycling, running and walking in the week. This place is absolutely hectic on hot summers days! This place seems to come to life at the weekend so if you want to relax n walk, run or cycle... More

Parking is quite expensive considering the state of the roads and the fact you mainly park on the grass. Toilets are not particularly clean. I have never used the cafe other than for bottled drinks or ice creams as the smell of dirty frying oil puts me off! It's lovely for a walk and to cycle as a family safely... More

I used to cycle to Rother Valley Country park from Chesterfield, and it was a great place to get my breath back. The cafe serves good food at reasonable prices, and the scenery is gorgeous.

Rothervalley is a truly awful place to visit, the amenities are mediocre at best and the staff seemed particularly unwelcoming. We took our dog for a walk, the first time he had been there and certainly the last as he ended up at our vet's on death's door with the vet fairly certain he had picked something up while at...
