A group of us took this trip on a Friday night in April, so it wasn't truly dark but it was still plenty of spooky fun. I'm pretty sceptical about ghosts but enjoyed this tour as Bill Spectre was great fun and alongside the fascinating historical stories he threw in plenty of jokes and tricks. We live in Oxford and... We can thoroughly recommend Bill Spectre's Ghost Trail of Oxford. We, and a good number of other visitors, had the good fortune to be entertained by Bill on Saturday 5th April. From the applause Bill received and the overall level of appreciation from his audience, the tour obviously appeals to a good cross section of people, young and old, and... More

Bill Spectre's ghost trail was a marvelous treat! Bill is highly entertaining and more a magician of some sort. You will be pleasantly surprised by his humour. Definitely great value for many, whether taking part in a group, as a couple or on your own. A lot of fun and very funny! I did expected too be genuinely scared, as... More

I'm usually quite sceptical and put off by people who take ghost stories too seriously; however Bill told his stories in such a perfect manner, I couldn't help but laugh along and feel a little spooked at times down the dark alleys! My brother and I both agreed it was our favourite part of visiting Oxford, and I would definitely... More

Bill obviously has huge appeal to individual visitors to Oxford. What's also worth knowing is that he is fantastically successful with school groups too. Students from my school have taken his Ghost Trail four times and on each occasion he has been a huge hit. The drama is sustaining, the pace and timing well-matched to adolescents, and the 'gags' (no... More

Hi Simon! Thank you so much for taking the trouble to give the trail such a fantastic review. As I mentioned, I have to rely almost entirely on word of mouth and TripAdvisor to spread the word, so your help is really appreciated. Please pass on my best wishes to your lovely students and thank them for being such a... More

My partner and I went on a weekend trip to Oxford last week. We were looking to do something different and this certainly fitted the bill. Bill is a great character, charming and tongue in cheek. Highly recommended.

I was visiting Oxford alone and wanted something fun and interesting to do at night and this was it! Bill Spectre is very entertaining dressed in period attire and telling very interesting and creepy stories of the ghosts of Oxford (also with mixing in a bit of tricks!). Loved the stories and the way he tells them! It was also... More

My friend and I recently went on Bill Spectre's ghost trail. His presentation was excellent; his costume was straight from the late 19th century, and seeing him walking down the dimly lit lanes of Oxford, from a distance, reminded me of Jack the Ripper or Dr Crippen. The tour itself is atmospheric, combining tales of ghostly terror; magic and illusion,... More

My friend and I went to see Bill Spectre last night in Oxford. He was fabulous and funny, gave a splendid and very interesting talk about the ghosts around the colleges of Oxford. He was charming to us and put a few magic tricks in the talk, too. It was great fun but very historic, too. GO AND SEE!!!

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write your lovely review. Really appreciated as I have no signs in the centre of Oxford so word of mouth and TripAdvisor are absolutely my best advert. Not always easy to enjoy yourself on a cold wintery night outdoors, so thank you for entering into the spirit of the night and... More
