"Great tour, the best I have ever experienced. He was super knowledgeable and was able to combine serious with fun - and even singing! It seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves". "It was a great tour and scored highly in the post-conference survey - mostly 6 out of 6. Classic English eccentrics and really entertaining". "It was a quintessential English... More

My friend and I had taken a wonderful tour of Stratford-Upon-Avon last year with David and having decided to visit Oxford this summer, got in touch with him to book something similar. He kindly accommodated us at very short notice for a two hour afternoon wander around a number of the city's must-sees, including the beautiful St. John's College. To... More

We met David when he guided us around Stratford-upon-Avon. We were so impressed with his educational yet very entertaining tour that we decided to join him in Oxford as well. We weren't disappointed! He was very knowledgeable and accommodating with our questions. 2 hours just wasn't enough to imbibe everything about Oxford! We wished we could bring David along for... More

Me and my husband booked a tree hour tour in Oxford. We had David som guide and it was excellent. He had answer to all our questions. Is the best way to visit Oxford. I strongly rekomend this tour (and ask for David!)

This was our second, excellent walking tour with David Gunnell and our first tour of Oxford. Highlights on this two hour walking tour of Oxford included: Visits to a college quadrangle and gardens, libraries and museums (external), architectural features, chapel/church (external), famous landmarks - eg pubs/cafes and monuments David's knowledge of Oxford - history, architecture, academic, political, cultural and contemporary... Our guide David was highly knowledgeable about the colleges and history of Oxford. He was also very enthusiastic, it's clear this is a topic of great personal interest to him. We learned all kinds of interesting little stories along the way.The tour was two hours and I wish we'd had time for something longer

This was our third time with David and our 2nd in Oxford. David managed to vary the tour so that we weren't seeing the same things yet again. There is though so much to see in Oxford that I suspect we will be back again soon. All of the other reviews about David's knowledge, personability, charisma and sense of fun... More

We returned for another group tour of Oxford. This time taking in the lesser known areas like Jericho. The walls didn't fall down and we learnt about its previous life. After a delicious lunch in that area in a pub which was full of memorabilia we headed to St. John's college with its beautiful gardens. We took in the Sheldonian... More

David Gunnell went above and beyond for our private group tour for 25. He was fun and extremely informative and knowledgeable. A delightful bonus was the poetry he recited beautifully at various points. The history of Oxford really comes alive in his capable hands. A first-rate guide is David.
