Lovely theatre.....we sat in Row G seats 6 & 7 which for this play was 4 rows from the front. The play was The Kings Speech....(fabulous) ...great value too at just £56.00. We usually go to London to see Musicals and Plays and would not hesitate to book to see something here again as great value for money.

My belated Birthday treat was a trip to see The Kings Speech at the Playhouse. It's a small theatre holding a little over 600 however the seating was good with plenty of legroom unlike some theatres. Very clean and well presented.

had a very enjoyable evening here seeing Arthur Miller's All My Sons put on by Talawa, the UK's top black-led theater group, fresh off of the West End. The theater is intimate with decent acoustics. The tickets were only £24, which I thought was reasonable. There seemed to be a lot of student productions in addition to professional casts. A... More

Now when you have a short City break you probably don't think of visiting the local theatre/playhouse. Due to circumstances we did and it made for a great change. We were lucky enough to see a comedian Gina Yashere who was very funny. In fact she is on tour throughout UK at moment and I would recommend seeking her out.... More

On a recent overnight stay in Oxford we were keen to experience a production put on by students since my daughter has a keen interest in drama. The production of 'Noises Off' by the 'Milk and Two Sugars' company from Oxford University fitted the bill nicely. What a scream. This farce was incredible from beginning to end. The ticket price... This is such a lovely theatre. Very traditional yet really well modernised so that the bars etc are bright and airy. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Refreshments were enjoyable - great to have the option on tea and cake as well as ice cream and alcoholic drinks! We saw a student production of Noises Off which was superb.

It has been many years since we last visited this particular theatre, but a present of tickets from our children meant we were able to enjoy a terrific performance of this award winning show. Robert Webb, Jason Thorpe and Christopher Ryan were brilliant in their respective roles and received lengthy ovations at the end from the appreciative audience, This was... More

I went to the pantomime here in 2013/4 (Robin Hood) and again in the 2014/5 season (Beauty and the Beast). Both were very engaging performances, with the latest one being a real extravaganza of colour, sound and action. Our kids (6 & 4) loved it (and the adults were quite impressed too). The venue is petite but all the better... More
