Have been many times to the playhouse and each time it has been very enjoyable. Friendly staff, comfortable seating and most importantly great acting! Went to see 'Guys and Dolls' recently which was performed by MYCO (Musical Youth Company of Oxford) . It was breathtakingly good & so professional! Cannot fault. Always have ice cream during the interval and although... More

the Oxford playhouse is a charity and it also puts a lot of energy into supporting the arts, young people and the local community. The shows are very varied - if you want big production musicals etc the new theatre up the road, a so much bigger venue, may be more you scene. I personally love the intimacy of the... More

The Oxford Playhouse is a lively theatre with exciting new plays; an annual pantomime and pre-London performances. The seating is comfortable but the acoustics not of the best. The bar area is small and crowded and the washrooms are downstairs. I would recommend waiting in the Randolph Hotel a few doors along the road and going straight to your seats... More

Visited recently to see Punt and Dennis . The staff all made us really welcome . Any complaint was the price of a glass of wine .....

A terrific production of Robin Hood pantomime. Funny and enjoyable. There were many additional features to enhance the production - Punch & Judy and other puppetry displays 10/10 👍

I love The Playhouse and wrote a glowing review of last year's panto, Dick Whittington, which was absolutely brilliant. We saw Robin Hood today and I have to agree with the previous reviewer who said it was an unfunny, confusing mess. There seemed to be no plot what so ever; just a series of individual scenes. What was the thinking... More

Just returned from Robin Hood at the playhouse, not the greatest we have seen and has left me considering whether to return next panto season or venture somewhere else. The venue is lovely and the customer service I revieved was great it,s the pantomime that let it down! Last years was hilarious ( dick Whittington) full of adult and child... More

Do you remember the words? Well, you will do by the end of this fabulous panto! We took our 7 year old grand daughters who were spellbound the whole way through. They (and we) booed and hissed, laughed and sang. Two hours passed in a flash - it was a great post-Christmas treat. The cast were enthusiastic and genuinely funny... More

Was new to the area, and did not receive a pleasant welcome when asking at reception what time we should be there. Book signing seemed unorganised with no clear directions as what to do.

While on a visit to Oxford we passed the Oxford Playhouse and on a lark, booked a couple of tickets for a show that evening. It was an Agatha Christie novel/play put on by a theatre group that specializes in performing her work in plays and the cast consisted of professionals, so we really didn't know what to expect. It...
