We have been visiting the Oxford Playhouse for many years; regretfully finding in recent years an absence of plays which took our fancy. Loving restoration comedy, She Stoops to Conquer was too much to resist. With like minded friends we visited last evening. The performance of all the players was superb, the production faultless and thoroughly entertaining. We all agreed... More

The first play written by Agatha Christie, a real feast, well acted and very well produced. Slightly spoilt by rustling sweet papers but the ushers were brilliant and dealt sensitively with the issue. Looking forward to return visit

Marvellous version of this brilliant play to mark its 10th anniversary. Fabulous production and superb acting by the Oxford University cast.

Visited Oxford specifically to see this play as we knew some of the people taking part. Lovely theatre almost opposite the Ashmoleum Museum. Nice little bar in the reception area that does get crowded just before curtain up. It is a very new play and dealt with many issues relating to the NHS, so it is very current. The audience... More

We saw an excellent performance of Guys and Dolls by the astonishing Musical Youth Company of Oxford. These youg people are incredibly talented and we were so lucky to be there. We sat next to a proud father of one of the performers, that was a plus. On a practical level it is easy to book tickets on the internet... More

Have been many times to the playhouse and each time it has been very enjoyable. Friendly staff, comfortable seating and most importantly great acting! Went to see 'Guys and Dolls' recently which was performed by MYCO (Musical Youth Company of Oxford) . It was breathtakingly good & so professional! Cannot fault. Always have ice cream during the interval and although... More

the Oxford playhouse is a charity and it also puts a lot of energy into supporting the arts, young people and the local community. The shows are very varied - if you want big production musicals etc the new theatre up the road, a so much bigger venue, may be more you scene. I personally love the intimacy of the... More

The Oxford Playhouse is a lively theatre with exciting new plays; an annual pantomime and pre-London performances. The seating is comfortable but the acoustics not of the best. The bar area is small and crowded and the washrooms are downstairs. I would recommend waiting in the Randolph Hotel a few doors along the road and going straight to your seats... More

A terrific production of Robin Hood pantomime. Funny and enjoyable. There were many additional features to enhance the production - Punch & Judy and other puppetry displays 10/10 👍
