Lurrve it and it was fun for a business trip (well, define 'business'). Call me if you would like a similar type of business trip.

Watching Stewart Lee is always a delight and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience at the Playhouse. The building is beautiful with bags of character, the acoustics are excellent and the bars are accessible and well-staffed. Yes, the seating is a bit cramped, but no more so than many theatres I've visited and some of the facilities are... More

It's a lovely little place, it's character fits in well with the surroundings and is a nice change from modern theatres. It does however need alot of improvements, especially the seats the the auditorium! If you are taller than 5"6 then prepare to spend a few hours feeling like a sardine. Also, a couple of people had the flappy bit... More

This was so different to any other show I have seen. It was presented as if it was being broad casted live on radio...like stepping back in time. Once we had settled into the story we found it to be clever way of putting this charming story on the stage.

Always enjoy a visit to this theatre. A good range of different genres. Added bonus of having a great choice of places to eat & drink close by.

The Playhouse shows a wide range of plays and other entertainment (went to a comedy show tonite with Jack Dee). What frustrates me no end about the theatre is that they only allow you to leave at the end of the performance out of one door - at the back of the theatre. This empties into the small lobby area... Nice seating plan i sat in row D and was a few meters away from the show. The seats got a little uncomfortable after a hour. Car park is around the corner and is expensive. Food and drinks area could be bigger as couldnt find seats so went outside instead.

Lovely theatre.....we sat in Row G seats 6 & 7 which for this play was 4 rows from the front. The play was The Kings Speech....(fabulous) ...great value too at just £56.00. We usually go to London to see Musicals and Plays and would not hesitate to book to see something here again as great value for money.

My belated Birthday treat was a trip to see The Kings Speech at the Playhouse. It's a small theatre holding a little over 600 however the seating was good with plenty of legroom unlike some theatres. Very clean and well presented.
