I work for one of the largest language schools in Oxford and we often hire the services of the I Love Oxford Tours. The main guide is also an English tutor so he will make sure students understand him, regardless of their level of English. He is also very friendly and flexible with our requests. I would recommend him for... More

Peter was our guide for the day. As there was noone else in the tour, we had him all to ourselves. ;) He was spilling with knowledge and information throughout the tour, showing us into bars and colleges, and took us into alleys that we wouldn't have found on our own. Also plenty of tips on where to visit for... More

This is a tour you MUST take upon arrival. The hour-long tour (actually, closer to 70-75 minutes) was the perfect way to get oriented to our surroundings, find out some very interesting facts, get the insight into places we wanted to visit later, and see things we wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. The guide (Alistair) is amusing as well as informative.... More

We pre-booked the tour via the website, really enjoyed it, as did our 4 Children, Alasdair, the guide was a fountain of knowledge, but also made it funny and entertaining, our 5 year old was as engrossed as our 12 yo! . We also had the added bonus of a 'private tour' as no one else booked with us, this... More

Two friends and I stumbled upon the Mad-hatter walking tour and highly enjoyed it! The quirky comments and jokes and interesting facts made this a really great tour. And Alastair was a fountain of knowledge. Great value for money, too. I highly recommend!

We apparently didn't choose the best day to visit Oxford, since the city was overloaded due to an open-College day. But actually that made our tour all the more valuable. Our Tourguide Peter was great. Being a former Oxford student himself he was able to present lots of information about the single colleges and the University, so we really got... More

Looked promising, but was rather disappointing and over priced. Might be just right for you but suggest you check out other tours at the Tourist Information to make sure you get the right one for your particular interests, and pick a day with good weather if you can. We were sooooo cold!

My friend & I took a penny tour with Alasdair & he was brilliant. It was only my friend & I on the tour, so we had a very intimate tour & I found it interesting & entertaining. Well worth the penny!!!!

We were very fortunate to find Alasdair at 1pm on Thursday 8th November as we were hoping to see more of Oxford. We had been previously and had done the open top bus tour but suffered from information overload by the end. In contrast we found Alasdair's walking tour, at a brisk pace, covered back streets and alleyways with an... More
