Enjoyed a leisurely stroll from Christ Church down the lane through the meadow and a walk along the Thames. Very peaceful even though there were many tourists doing the same. Well worth the effort to add this attraction to your agenda.

The river, the ease of walking, the aquatic birds, watching the punters and rowers...a quiet way to enjoy a different side of Oxford.

This is always a lovely walk. Plenty of room for dogs to roam people you meet always very friendly. We go there quite a few times a year it is particularly good for blackberries when they are in season.

It is a wonderful place to visit, because once you have entered off the main roads, either from St Aldates, you enter a quite walking area,to view Christ Church college, the meadow+walk to the river Thames.Or from Rose Lane again nice & quite to walk also to see the river Cherwell, where you can picnic under the trees. When the weather is nice it is a... I walked, played frisbee and ran in this park for weeks during the summer. There are large, full trees, a meadow with cows (and hayfever causing hay...) and running along the Thames with the bells of Christ Church cathedral and views of the spires of Oxford is just surreal and wondrously beautiful.

Been here four times now and I still haven't had enough of it. During our last visit, together with my wife and visiting friends, we spotted a fox and her 5 cubs right next to the river Cherwell. What a lovely sight. One of the places you must visit if you are in Oxford

Christ Church Meadow is a large green open space in central Oxford, with great views of the Cathedral, Merton Collage and the Botanical Gardens. I stroll through every time I visit and love the place. The Meadow should form part of any walk around the City.

It takes a bit longer but if you are coming from the Abingdon Road side you can get into the meadow round the back of the Head of the River pub and you will eventually come out on High Street after a very pleasant and relaxing stroll.
