I was in Oxford for one day. Arriving midday with plans to attend a concert that night, I only had a little time for sightseeing. This is the first place I headed, and I am so glad that I did. The architecture is stunning, and the amount of history here is overwhelming. You follow the signs independently to see the... More

Whilst visiting friends they brought us here to show us around. At £7 entrance it felt quite expensive, having almost no interest in a particular movie franchise I wasn't too bothered about the great hall. The vaulted ceiling is stunning in the stairwell, the church has some lovely stain glass and the grounds are well tended. However, obviously there are... More

A beuatiful college, buildings, hall, garden. Of course the huge (more than 300 places?) Harry Potter dining room is a must see, with all paintings of former very famous Students (which in Christ Church terminology means professor I think), fire places, and so on. We saw the Cathedral on a previous occasion, rather small but - again - beautiful. Definitively... More

There is much to see here. We visited for a Christmas service and carols and it set the whole tone for the holiday week. Gorgeous music, beautifully sung by the Cathedral choir included modern works by Tavener. If you are visiting Oxford it is not to be missed.

We took the self-guided tour today. There is an admission charge but I thought it was well worth the cost. On paying to enter you are given a printed guide with good basic information on what you are about to see. The route is well signposted and includes the Cloister, the staircase with its stunning vaulted roof, the Hall, Tom... More

This place was amazing, the architecture is quintessential British architecture and it has been used in the Harry Potter movies. There is a beautiful park surrounding the area with plenty of activities happening. I was fortunate to visit while some cricket was being played and plenty of people were about. Definitely a must when visiting Oxford

Christ Church College is absolutely stunning! I went to hear the Evensong (free!) and got to poke around the campus a little before and after the service. Definitely a must do and must see!

This is, by far, the best and most interesting of the colleges to visit. It does cost the most, but it is definitely worth the price, if only to see The Hall (where some of Harry Potter was filmed). The Cathedral is also beautiful, and you will enjoy the quad with Mercury in the middle. This is also where the... More

If you are lucky enough to spend a few hours or longer in Oxford, Christ Church should be in your list. The grounds are impeccably manicured and the cathedral is not one to miss. A very nice man greeted us and after inquiring as to what language we spoke, handed us a handout of things to look for upon entering... More

Just superb! Absolutely lovely! The choir sang beautifully. A nice mix of traditional and unusual Christmas songs. The organ piece was 'interesting' but well explained afterwards! Nice interval with wine and a chance to look around the cloisters.
