History surrounds you at Christ Church College. Sir Christopher Wren was its architect and Tom Tower houses a multi-ton bell. There are cloisters to explore, the meadow, war memorial garden and the cathedral. Do not forget to try to see the dining hall which was used, along with the stairway leading to it, in the Harry Potter movies. This place... More

We were attending the mass at 5.45 pm because it is free to visit the college, but it was so crowded we couldn't enjoy. The mass was more than half an hour and the heat was suffocating. I'll try to visit it in a less sunny day. It is a place where you can breathe peace.

Overall I was disappointed with this site. The hall (Hogwarts dining hall) is open at selected times. This meant that on our busy day there was a long queue as everyone seemed to be waiting for opening before buying an entry ticket, and we were herded through. The cathedral is beautiful but there is not much else to see and the... More

There is no charge for visiting Christ Church College. The gardens are beautiful and there is staff everywhere on the college grounds to tell you about the college, famous people who have attended, and how to get about. The Cathedral is gorgeous and open to the public, at no charge. If you are there at the time of Evensong, it... More

Very nice to see, there is so much to see and do in Oxford I wouldn't stay too long though. The areas right around here are great, I advise at least coming to take a look for 30 min or so.

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting this college, the stunning architecture was impressive. Perhaps the crowds detracted from the visit a little as some areas were initially restricted and when they opened the queues were long ( the Harry Potter effect!) however the grounds were worth a look and if they could just work out a more logical way for everyone to wander... Visiting Christ Church College was with my cousin, a summer student, was wonderful. The great Hall, Meadows, The Church, a quiet stroll along the river and all the building we were able visit with my cousin were impressive. We avoided the tour groups. We felt we really got the flavor of Oxford University visiting Christ Church and several other key... More

Me and my family just visited Christ Church College. We have a child who uses a stroller. The place is definitely beautiful and wholly represents college life in Oxford. However we were very disappointed due to accessibility issues. Using a stroller at Christ Church is a big hassle... no visible ramps and no assistance was offered. To make it worse,... More
