We went on the short boat trip (50 mins) as part of a day out visiting Oxford where my father was a student in the 50's. The captain was friendly and happily let us open our own bottle of champagne. For us it was a perfect trip up and down amongst all the students doing rowing training, past all the... More

We loved the idea of a picnic on the river though the weather on the day was grey and dull.Due to my bad organisation we turned up on the wrong day!- all credit to the "skipper" and caterers who were able to cope at short notice. The picnic was sumptuous-a long way from the jam sandwiches and pop of one's... More

Dear Val Thank you for your review. I'm very pleased that we were able to reorganise the cruise for you at the last minute. We do try to be as accommodating as possible. I have passed your generous comments about the picnic on to our caterers. You're right that the river is less scenic when the trees are not in... More

We were booked for a river trip yesterday. As it turned out, the weather was not that good. When we arrived, we were very courteously greeted and the trip consisted of us and one other couple, lasting about two hours. The small boat was captained by Jan. He was friendly and knowledgeably answered questions put to him along the route.... More

We booked this as a Groupon and got a two for one deal, to be honest as I'd never tried a Groupon before it was my way of trying them out cheaply, and a great success it was too. Our trip was to be a two and a half hour trip from central Oxford up the Thames ( or Isis... More

The captain (Jan) was very knowledgable and happy to expand on questions asked. The boat was comfortable and blankets were provided if needed. The river trip was 2 hours long and to be honest that was more than enough as there was very little to see. It would have been much more interesting if we had gone through Oxford city... More

I'm very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cruise and that Jan was so informative. It sounds like you booked our longest cruise and it might have been that our shorter 50 minute sightseeing cruise would have been more suitable for you. The longer cruise is best for those really seeking to emerse themselves in a taste of river... More

if you want to see Oxford you must go on a walking tour (go for footprints on broad St) as Oxford does not make the most of its fabulous river. having said that the cruise was comfortable (blankets if your on a grey/cold day) and skipper very friendly and happy to chat and point things out. on the river you... Having been given a gift certificate for a river cruises last Christmas, which sat in a draw for many months, we finally got around to booking and taking the cruise in late October. We went on the 2.5 hour cruise with a lunch provided. Given the time of year we were a little trepidatious about spending so long out on... More

I went on the Oxford Experience Cruise with my mum, £12 each and its advertised on their website as "Our Most Popular Sightseeing Tour"!!! Its staggering if thats the case, because its the most boring cruise I have ever been in. There was nothing beautiful to look at, the driver was trying to be funny at times which worked but... More

Booked 10 Berth Barge through AngloWelsh and picked up at Eynsham. Barge facilities really good, and staff at base very friendly and informative. Oxford is a good choice as not so far away and has good shopping/sights to see and plenty of nice restaurants along the route. White Hart at Wolvercote really good food/hospitality. Friday till Monday good amount of... More

27th October 2012 We had an excellent time on this cruise. We have done a lot of river cruises both in this country and abroad but this was one of the best we have ever done. Being a small boat with only 11 or so passengers it was very personel with a very nice and informative skipper. The food was... More
