A very important place to visit. Be prepared to be shocked by what happened in the past. I did my visit in two half days. You certainly need plenty of time to see it all!!

Spent over two hours looking around - partly guided and partly on our own. Lot's of inofrmation and plenty to see. Visiting old dungenosn and cells below ground and seeing how prisoners were treated was highly educational. The tour included a visit to the courtroom and some intrestin exhibition halls.

This is a fascinating place to visit to learn about crime and punishment in the past and tales of ghosts and hauntings. The Galleries are said to be among the most haunted buildings in Europe. The tour guides are very informative and entertaining. I have worked with groups of school children here on creative writing projects and the Galleries have... More

This is more than a museum, it is a living part of our heritage. I remember when it was still the County Assizes, as I had to give evidence there; the court was daunting, and when the Assizes were on, the Judge used to arrive by official car dressed in his finery. today, the jail is still there, with the... Went here with friends from abroad. Absolutely loved it was so funny and all the staff really get into their characters. Can't remember the last time i laughed like it. Weird hearing the story about Loggerheads too, something local I never knew about. The thought of what some of them went through makes prison nowadays like a 5 star hotel.... More

You're guided around the galleries for about 40 minutes by various characters from various periods, including the sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood, are left towards the end of the galleries to look on at your own pace and are welcome to go back through and tour at your leisure. Free entry for the year after paying once, very insightful,... More

We bought a combination ticket for The Galleries of Justice and the City of Caves which gave an overall discount of 20% so this review is based on that. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Galleries of Justice and spent a very interesting 3hrs plus wandering around with the audio guide. Since we went on a damp Tuesday there were no... More

My son and his partner came over from Canada and as it was a very rainy day we decided to visit the galleries of justice. We found it very informative and interesting and there were actors there interacting with us . we enjoyed it very much.
