You can take a guided tour or use an audio guide, we opted for the audio guide and can't fault it. We got a good insight in to the history of the building and historic justice system, with a short look at the more recent and current ways of treating offenders. Look out for the "typo" on the outside!

We came with 4 children ages between 9 and 13 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were greeted by the sheriff who discussed Robin Hood's 'wickedness 'with the argumentative children, then to the courtroom, lots of interaction with a mock trial. Great fun and very informative. The prison warder was charmingly evil and again gave lots of facts. The dungeons were... More

We absolutely loved this tour. Very interesting, educational and entertaining. The actors were fantastic, very realistic. Would definitely recommend. However, be warned, If you have very young children they may be a bit scared- ours were staying with grandparents but if our 3 year old had been with us I imagine it would have scared her.

Had friends visiting from Canada and took them here as it's on our doorstep. Have to admit as nottingham isn't a tourist hub I expected it to be the weakest of the attractions we'd planned for them on their trips to Nottm, Bath, Oxford and London... But it turned out to be one of the best! The tour guides are... More

This is really incredible and right on my doorstep! I would recommend getting the double ticket to this and the caves as they are both excellent. You are led by actors and actresses and there are no volunteers involved, so the people who don't like taking part won't have to. You must visit this if you're journey takes you to... More

We enjoyed the visit but needed a guide a bit boring without one. We would go again, but we would make sure we have a guide

It was a fun little trip but I think they have a lot to learn from other similar attractions (ie Warwick Dungeons and similar). Could have been better but still worth a visit.
