I had my phone stolen from a secured bag (through a lock and zip on my person) here twice. The second time I'd learnt my lesson and when they found the old Nokia I caught them trying to put it back in my bag. After telling the bar staff they asked me to move aside because they wanted to serve... More

Growing up Rock City was the go-to place to watch all your favourite bands and it's still the place where I have witnessed some of my favourite shows. I saw Bombay Bicycle Club there earlier this year and it was such an amazing show, the stage production was so impressive. I like how you don't feel crowded in there either.... More

We've now seen a few bands here in both the small and the large room. The small room (UK Foo Fighters and Foreigner's Journey) was brilliant and a really good atmosphere (although the bar can be awkward to get to, as it's just next to the stage!). The big hall is good, and not too big, (Haysee Dixie) and plenty... More

If you are ever visitng Nottingham for a night out DO NOT go to this place! Not only is it full of chavs but the place as a whole is just disgustingly dirty! Ladies, your feet stick to the floor so bad you cannot walk without your shoes comming off. The toilets are always wrecked, the staff clearly don't check... More

There are 3 dancefloors: - pop-ish music - electronica/industrial - metal/rock Maybe it was a bad night, but I kept going between the industrial and metal rooms and wasn't particularly amazed by the DJ's choices. Also, for £6 entrance, the loos could be much cleaner!

Some of the very best bands and artists play here. Difficult to get a good view of stage if you are short! It's a typical dindgy rock club ! Multi-storied car park practically next to it and plenty of eateries down the road and great little Rock pub also just down the road. (Toilet attendant took me by surprise, selling... More

We saw Alkaline Trio here and it was our first band in Rock City. I had a coke and immediately regretted it - sickly sweet - definitely Rola Cola. Just don't bother buying drinks here they are overpriced and pretty gross. Otherwise we really like this place. Marked down because of the crazy sticky floor.

Was having a great time at Rock City until - out of the blue and without any provocation or reason - the bouncers pounced on a member of our group, floored him then dragged him away from us. Seconds later they gave the same treatment to another person in our group. We were not being disruptive or in any way... More

Rock City is a Nottingham legend having seen some of the biggest names in rock grace its stage over the years. Even now after many changes and slight moves in direction its still a rocking venue cheap(ish) drinks and a good atmosphere make for a good night out don't expect luxery but go with and open mind

Great venue for a night out. Has 3 different rooms and many, many bars. I'd say watch your bag/pockets because it has a reputation for thieves and phone theft. Free to get in on a Saturday with the guest list. Just watch the floor too, i've slipped many a times (not due to alcohol, I swear…) because it's so slippy,... More
