Loved this gallery, it looked quite small as we approached from just a short walk from the centre, but it went on and on. Very spacious, some great modern art and was themed amazingly well with the images, film and even books connected to it

We are very fortunate in Nottingham to have such an innovative gallery, and it's FREE! Well laid-out displays of contemporary art in a wide range of media. The café is good too!

This gallery has a variety of works and often has evening talks and things happening in the bar. Great events for kids too

It's a great space but the art was very drab. A lot of audio requiring headphones and a few large pieces of note. Would rather they had a more traditional art gallery.

I popped in for 20mins with the kids. And we couldn't belive our luck, the boys were unusually mesmerised by being allowed so close to the Pollock. It was... More

The exhibition now on is very thought provoking. That's what the artists wanted to make us more aware of the injustices of life. Loved it.

The Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery always puts on the good show but the current one is world class. I wanted to see Glenn Ligon's work having read in the national papers that he is a favourite of Barack Obama's, and I was thrilled to see work by Jackson Pollack, Basquiat, Warhol, Jasper Johns, etc, and a film by Steve McQueen.... I and my partner went in to see what Nottingham Contemporary was like and we left a bit disappointed; there was a theme of climate change and conversation in the three exhibition halls but actual art pieces seemed few and far between and was more focused on information panels scattered over the exhibition space. There was also little to link... More

Their "Rights of Nature" exhibition was fantastic. Very different to anything I have seen before and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into the arrangement and information of the exhibit. Curators very friendly and knowledgable. Beautiful gallery and reasonably priced in the cafe. Would definitely return.

I have been to the contemporary several times. The restaurant is pretty good and they do have some good workshops for kids. However, I really think that they need to re-think the way they exhibit some of the art-works with children in mind. Last time I went, my eldest was told off for gently touching a piece of marble!
