Nottingham Castle is the most un-castle-y castle in the United Kingdom. A better description would be 'the museum of not a lot really'. There's not even any castle rooms to look in, their excuse for this being 'the castle burnt down'. Then recreate the bloody rooms! Have they not heard of a mythical species known as 'builders'? There are only... More

This is not a castle but a stately home. It is an odd place in that, whilst the gardens are nice to walk around, the exhibitions within the castle don't seem to fit with the nature of the attraction, or each other for that fact - they certainly did not catch the attention of the children and "the Play Room"... We were looking to break up a very long road trip journey with our 2.5 year old. She loves castles and princesses etc… Although this is far from a Disney Princess castle, it is a nice little gem of a visit. The Good The castle is situated in an ideal location and there is some on-street parking nearby. The castle... More

I was well aware the castle was now a beautiful mansion, doubling as a museum. That did not detract from my enjoyment of my visit. Also did the cave tour, highly recommended to all!

Very interesting. Lots of interesting things for children to participate in. Plenty of memorabilia from WW2.

We enjoyed a great day out. Firstly, finding a voucher for children to go free on the web was a great start! The children really enjoyed the museum and the activities were great. The youngest loved the dressing up and finding the rat and mouse in the display cabinets. I think the Robin Hood area is well done and again,... More

I'm just a student and this is kinda of a late post so here goes. The castle is only a castle from the outside, once you go in it is just like any other museum. If you have time take the nct 30 or trent barton two to wollaton park, it have a better feel both inside and out and... More

Took the Grandchildren and had a lovely time well worth a visit except for the food costs in the restaurant which to my mind very expensive, perhaps if they charge less they would sell more also the car parking is very expensive too in Nottingham
