Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are glimpses of its grand past to explore - from the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a 'cathedral in miniature', you can follow in the footsteps of dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden, where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.Today Clumber offers freedom to discover a ducal park and provides a haven for wildlife within an idyllic setting. With 3,800 acres of picturesque parkland and gardens, peaceful woodlands and a magnificent lake to enjoy there is plenty of space to explore and relax with your family and friends. Not only is Clumber's mosaic of habitats home to an amazing array of wildlife, it is also a great place to spot it.And there's much more to explore. « less

Clumber park is a must see if you are in this area! The gardens and lake are beautiful and tranquil (even though it was busy when we were there). Very well maintained and clean. Big National Trust shop and a couple of places to get coffee and cake!

I've always loved going to Clumber, whether it's for a bike ride, a walk or a picnic. The price of parking seems steep but they have added more facilities and activities. There's some mental squirrels, they come so close!

My wife and I are in our mid sixties and have loved Clumber Park for years. We live around 15 miles from the park and as youngsters often used to cycle there. It really is a lovely park and one of our favourite walks is a brisk stroll around the lovely lake. However, for a variety of reasons we have... More

There are many walks of varied distances around Clumber Park. If you can it is far better to visit during the week as it is very busy at weekends, however you can usually find somewhere to park and have quiet walks even on a Saturday or Sunday. If you don't feel like walking you can hire bikes or simply find... More

Me and my mum visited here on Wednesday morning for a bike ride. It was our first time at clumber park and our first bike ride in years. Everything is very well signposted. We went to the bike hire where gentleman on shift was very welcoming and informative. We were given a map told about all the different routes there... More

I am so grateful that my friend recommended this National Trust park. We had the most wonderful day wandering and cycling around the lake and grounds. Oh and are timing was excellent as we were able to watch not one but two cricket matches taking place in the grounds. I would most definitely recommend a trip to Clumber Park. We... More

To be fair to the site it was very clean and well looked after, however we had our locked up bike stolen during the night while we were there. Just wish we had been told how rife this was on arrival by the wardens. There is a notice in the toilets that we didn't see till after the event as... More
