Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are glimpses of its grand past to explore - from the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a 'cathedral in miniature', you can follow in the footsteps of dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden, where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.Today Clumber offers freedom to discover a ducal park and provides a haven for wildlife within an idyllic setting. With 3,800 acres of picturesque parkland and gardens, peaceful woodlands and a magnificent lake to enjoy there is plenty of space to explore and relax with your family and friends. Not only is Clumber's mosaic of habitats home to an amazing array of wildlife, it is also a great place to spot it.And there's much more to explore. « less

If there is a family of 4 or more clumber park with the right weather is a fantastic day out as you pay per car. We meet friends there every year and make a full day of it with a picnic and the kids take their bikes or you can hire them.

It used to be free to get into Clumber Park and since the introduction of the entrance fee visitor numbers plummeted. It is owned by the National Trust who claim to preserve places like this for the nation but by charging almost £4 they have successfully put non-members off using it. It was a vibrant open space enjoyed by so... More

A beautiful park you could walk for miles here, lovely play area you can cycle round and even hire bikes there. Great on a sunny day and when weather iffy you can enjoy being at one with nature. You can also camp here or stop in a wigwam haven't done this yet as it gets booked up quickly. Be prepared... More

We are NT members so entrance was free. We parked near the cricket pitch and walked around the walled garden and then down to the lake. We could have hired bicycles but we didn't have time. This is an excellent place for children to play. You can borrow team sporting equipment from the centre if you produce some ID. Excellent.

As not-too-advanced cyclists we were looking for a place that can combine a quite easy cycling routes with beautiful views. We found it at magnificent Clumber Park. We spent a lovely day there and were so lucky to have a great weather. As cyclists with a picnic lunch with us we didn't try the restaurant, apart from a coffee from... More

We are NT members so come here a lot. I would resent paying £6.50+ if we weren't members though (plus £3 odd for the gardens!) It's a lovely place to walk and explore, even in the rain. We take the kids scooters and off we go, we are generally there for at least 2 hours each time. I am a... More

This is a National trust property so if you are not a member there is an entry fee. This is a vast place of open parkland with cycle trails that are not too difficult. Advice re these can be sought from the cycle hire shop which will hire you a variety of bikes, including bikes with kids seats, tug-a-long bikes... More
