We were unsure which parts of Hadrian's Wall to visit and given our physical condition knew we couldn't walk too much. We did a one day "safari tour" and it was altogether smashing. Gary asked our interests, and non-interests, and tailored the tour to optimize our time. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and gave us lots of information not available on... More

Our requirements were sympathetically handled - we also had to postpone our walk and this was accommodated with no problems. The walk itself worked brilliantly and the logistics provided by Hadrian's Wall ltd were impeccable. Highly recommended.

I've walked Hadrian's Wall three times - 2009, 2010, 2014. It is a great walk. The first time I did it a friend and I went day-to-day, figuring out each night how we'd move our gear and where we'd stay the next day. For my second trip I selected Hadrian's Wall LTD based on all the reviews and everything went... More

For a "big birthday" trip my wife decided she wanted us to walk the most interesting part of Hadrian's Wall from Lanercost to Chollerford. After reviewing several websites we decided to have Hadrian's Wall Ltd (a small local business run by Gary and Tracey) arrange our trip for us, as they advertise that they arrange everything, with varying standards of... Our family booked the day-long Hadrian's Wall Safari Tour. Gary picked us up at our hotel at 9:30 a.m., returning us after 5:30 in the afternoon. He made suggestions, but gave us the opportunity to focus on what we wanted to see. Not only did we tour the wall and a couple of museums in depth, but he provided very... More

Hadrian’s Wall is Europe’s largest surviving Roman monument. I suspect too many tourists are simply missing out the opportunity to visit this magnificent remnant. Yes, it involves some walking/hiking. If you can still handle the exercise, I recommend the Hadrian's Wall to all. We went there right after a shower, the slopes were muddy and slippery at some points. Even... More

We booked the safari tour with Gary. It was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Gary is extremely knowledgable about the history of the wall and the Roman Empire and is great at bringing the history to life. He took us to places we could not have accessed on our own. He is also very friendly and personable and passionate about... More

Gary and Tracy were excellent pilgrim guides for a college group from the Univ. of N. Carolina-Chapel Hill. Breakfast every morning was a feast, and the lunches absolutely scrumptous. They were helpful in taking down our camp sites each morning as we took off to walk along Hadrian's Wall, and then building our camp site for that evening's rest. Hospitality... More

Touring Hadrian's Wall with Gary Reed is a once-in-a-lifetime treat. He is extremely knowledgeable and able to effectively communicate that knowledge. The wall and its story are compelling. Even if your interest is only moderate book the whole day tour as you will come away enthralled. I cannot recommend this tour experience too highly.

Hadrian's Wall Ltd. planned a 3 day walk along Hadrian's Wall for us. All the plans went perfectly. Tracey and Gary reserved 4 bed and breakfasts for us along the wall. Each one was first rate with charming, helpful hosts. Our bags got moved each day to our net accommodation. The package they sent us with information on our accommodations,... More
