Played both courses over a weekend in April. The organisation is very good in contrast to the likes of Oulton Hall which is run by incompetent monkeys and that's being kind, so it was a pleasure from that point of view. The Priestman course was probably the most enjoyable of the two but the greens were in poor condition, however...

I love this place. It is always warm in the water and has a lovely atmosphere. Have never been to the hotel but a friend has and they said it's lovely.
Played The Priestman course and the greens were dreadful. Really not worth playing. They were happy to take our money but did not tell us about the state of the greens or that there was snow on the course, including one of the fairways

There are 2 courses, the Hunting & the Priestman & both have lots to offer all golfers. The courses are beautiful & with no nearby roads you are not disturbed by any noise pollution & concentrate on your golf surrounded by fabulous fauna
2 long but very different courses a test of anyones game. However the bar restaraunt is expensive with little choice. Most visitors play and then travel to somewhere else for food and refreshments
A little bit out of the way and nothing really to see nearby (without driving 20 miles to Hexham). The hotel is expensive, though it does have good leisure facilities and an excellent golf course - if golf does it for you!!
I booked slaley hall for my mother and me as it was her birthday. On arrival we signed in fine and went through to the changing rooms. Which were very cold.
In the actual spa we tried the steam room which was not working properly, it wasnt giving out enough steam and im quite used to trying various venues so...
