I'm sure as a tearoom this place is amazing. As a wedding venue it could be great. But the staff let it down. As wedding organisers, they were pretty useless. I know because I helped to set up the wedding, arriving the day before. I'll keep my write up short and sweet with a few observations. These were my experiences:... More

A small group of us had an afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were pleasant and helpful and didn't rush us. Well worth a return visit.

We also tried to have tea on Bank Holiday Monday ( 31 August) as the website showed it was open that day. Earlier attempts to visit had been thwarted by unanswered phone messages and emails and 2 wasted journeys but as were going to be nearby we thought it worth a chance. We arrived just as another couple were leaving.... More

Bank holiday Monday and where better to go than the garden station or so we thought. We went online to check opening times and set off and after an hour and forty minutes in the car we arrived to find it closed! This is the second time this has happened and the first time was our fault as we just... More

What a great place! This converted rail station has a linear garden running through it and beyond, plus a woodland/lakeside walk. Head back to the old waiting room for excellent refreshments, cream teas, etc., and maybe buy some of the plants you saw in the garden.

This is an unusual place to eat, in part of an old railway station. The food is simple but wholesome, and while you wait for it there are dozens of books to browse through. The garden is worth a wander through as well

I noticed in their website the afternoon tea offer, paid for it and am still waiting for the voucher 3 months later. Several phone calls (messages only, the phone is never answered) and an email later and during that time they have called me once. Still no voucher though despite promises. Be wary of the offer... I'm now in the... More
