Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ?

Amazing, beautiful, majestic stately house with fantastic grounds. We booked through a spa breaks company and could not be more pleased with package. From the room to dining to the spa experience itself. All was amazing. However, do not be fooled by the cheap prices on the spa break websites. We found that booking direct with the location/hotel group can... More

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The hotel itself is amazing. We both tried to book a treatment each but were told they were very busy and they only had half hour slots available. So we booked them for the following day. When we had our treatments, we didn't get to ones we had booked. My other half's... More

I received a voucher for a midweek overnight stay - made mistake of staying in school holidays...spa (pool etc) overrun with grandparents with grandchildren, far too hot,not enough seating, changing rooms and showers not up to a spa standard at all - more like public swimming baths changing rooms, had to queue to wait for an empty locker - I ended up getting... We had saved for a long time to take our daughters here for a spa day with our mother. As we walked through into the pool there was an awful smell near the showers and one of the toilets didn't have a lock on it! Its a small area to sit in and very few beds to lie on. I... More

This hotel is in a beautiful setting, we found the hotel reception staff to be very warm and friendly and our rooms were very good. However it was our experience that the Spa reception staff are not adequately trained in customer service and this needs addressing since they let the hotel down with all the ratings on TA . The... We visited today for the first time for a spa day. Staff were professional and courteous from the outset. Treatments were extensive to the degree that I felt extremely relaxed and we'll looked after. The only issues I have, and the first is based on my personal preference, is that it was way to busy to be able to feel... More
