Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ?

Called on the 21st August to make a booking for our Anniversary, booked a 2.5 hour indulgence package for the wife and I, but upon arrival we where told there was no booking for us. After speaking to the manager we where told that there was no availability for our package, and where offered a 2 x 30 minute complimentary... More

Went for a spa break here with my bf for a nice little getaway. Arrived and greeted very well spent afternoon in spa had great food on an evening with private dining and amazing breakfast. However all this was tarnished by one member of bar female bar staff when having our lunch in the pub on site. Her attitude stank... More

nice pool area and nice food in the café. could do with more loungers and there is only one changing cubicle so you have to get changed in front of others or wait if someone else is in the cubicle, not a big deal really.

Really enjoyed my recent spa visit. Had the "hot stones massage"...wow! It was fabulous. Very relaxing. The spa itself is very nice, although it is expensive so I would expect that. The pool area has a mixture of guests - some relaxing using the spa facilities and some families. Not many loungers around the pool but we managed to find... More

Went to slaley hall for a a surprise for my wife's 50th surprise birthday treat. Dukes restaurant was excellent and well worth a visit - nice meal staff excellent and helpful but very expensive for the portion size Spa disappointing inly 7-8 loungers they were permanently taken- also 40-50 other spa visitors - very busy. Perfect place for a break whether you enjoy golf or not. Weekend away with my husband found all the staff very welcoming and friendly. There were a couple of weddings there over the weekend but this did not interfere with the great service provided by the staff. Ate in Hadrians restaurant and the food was great waiter checked to see... More

Went there for a birthday treat with my wife using a living social offer. The changing rooms and spa is very tired and dirty. The jacuzzi was broken as was the sauna. That left only the pool and one steam room. The pool was full of small children with armbands. Not really what we had in mind. We complained and... More

The treatments were really good. Unfortunately everything else has gone down hill since it changed to Q hotels. Decided to have lunch in the spa area like we normally do when going for a spa day there as we normally really enjoy it. The most disappointing sandwich I have ever had. I decided to go for the tuna and spring... More

Went for a spa day that was terrible! They kept getting everything wrong, booked us in for wrong time, wrong treatments, our lunch was the wrong order and the pool area is very run down and nothing like it used to be. The treatments were lovely though and very relaxing! So we emailed to say we weren't happy and in... More

This review is for the Spa alone, the hotel is top notch. This spa has ripped and torn shower curtains in the women's changing area, lime scale and filthy showers and toilets, not enough lockers or beds for the amount of people they allow in, not very relaxing. The "juice" bar doesn't sell juice, the tuna sandwich I ate there... More
