My friends and I enjoyed our visit to the house very much. The staff (who I guess are volunteers) are very knowledgeable and welcoming and the house is very interesting and well restored. We also enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea in The Dining Room.

I have tried on three separate occasions to visit this house without success. The first time was on my birthday when we were told that places had sold out. We decided to stay for a cup of tea and a cake which was served on a dirty table and the cake was dry. The second time we were told that... More

A brilliant few hours that brightened a dull day. What a little gem - full of surprises. Very warm greeting at Reception, and a super, knowledgeable Guide. The house was amazing and full of interest. Well presented display areas with just the right amount of detail. To add to this , do make time to visit the Tea Room. Lovely... More

A sympathetic restoration of the Georgian townhouse that was remodeled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. A £7 entry fee applies, but this gives entry for a full year - good value. Although not a large building, free guided tours are available several times a day - this is a most informative tour, conducted by a volunteer. I am glad we joined... More

my wife and I love all Art Deco and the architecture of the period. This house is a superb example of the period and the skills of Mackintosh as an architect and designer. We looked forward to turning every corner in anticipation of what we would see next. Will visit again as it is worth a second visit to catch... More

I was very impressed with the house itself and the video at the start put the visit into context in terms of the renovation work carried out. We opted for a guided tour - 3pm on Friday 20th February 2015 and there were eight people in the party. The guide put the video on and left the room, having given... More
