It is often said that people do not explore places of interest on their doorstep and this is true of me and 78 Derngate. It has been on my list of 'places to visit' for some time and this morning my husband and I did. What a treasure! We were lucky to have a guide to ourselves - the fabulous... More

This is a terraced house, looks small from the upside, but once inside you are transformed back to rennie Macintosh era. Lovingly reproduced. Took my teenage son and he enjoyed it as well.

Fascinating place and great guides. I so want to take the guest bedroom home with me. Does have a very pricey gift shop!

My wife organised an afternoon tea at the restaurant at 78 Derngate via email and she says the communication was great and they were able to organise special requests easily. They had decorated the table as this was a special treat for a birthday. This was our first experience of any afternoon tea and it was excellent. The tea and... More

This review is for the Restaurant, not the museum. I took my friend here for her birthday treat and we both loved it. We sat by the window which was delightful in itself. The food came out in two parts. Savoury then sweet. All the food was delicious and you tell that a lot of thought had gone into choosing.... More

I visited the tearoom at 78 Derngate with my partner. I love afternoon tea and wasn't disappointed. We were offered a selection of different tea (although settled for the usual Earl Grey!) Our savoury selection came separate to our sweet, which was nice as it felt as though we were getting more food ;) The tea room was a little... More

Lovely little museum. Compact but fascinating. The guides were excellent. Interesting video to start the tour and a couple of small art exhibitions that were quite likeable too.

This town house was decorated by Rennie Macintosh and has been restored. It is a fascinating house, right down to the art deco garden. The guides are very enthusiastic. We finished off the tour by treating ourselves to lunch in the restaurant - recommended!
