I have just returned home from visiting the Rookery Open Farm today. There was 4 adults including myself, my four nearly five year old son, an eleven year old and a fifteen year old. I think this 'farm' is really good for younger children, up to about 12/13 in my opinion, the animal areas, are pretty small. you can go... More

We took our grandson for a day out at Rookery farm. The price was a bit high but plenty to do and see although our 2.5 year old was not willing to stay within his age group but came to no harm. The one dissappointment was the tea room. Apart from cake there was nothing our little one would eat.... More

We took our grandson to visit the farm and found it better than some reviews led us to expect. Quite a few small animals (rabbits, birds, sheep, goats and guinea pigs) and various larger animals (cattle, horses, donkeys etc). There's a pretty large indoor play area, and the summer day we were there some bouncy castles. There's plenty of room... More

This a good place to take the kids, although it can work out quite expensive, mash the price for Adults is Over £6 and frankly it is certainly not for adults other than to accompany the children. There is an outside kids play area and also an inside play area divided up for smaller and then older children, also it is... More

After a recent visit to Rookery open farm I felt the animal enclosures are starting to look very run down. The rabbit enclosures looked liked they needed a good clean out and a poor baby donkey stood in a field in the pouring rain looking dreadfully sad and unhappy. The entrance fee is quite high but I think more money... More

I had a great day out today at rookery open farm. I came on a visit with my church group and the children. Nice big play area inside with indoor picnic table area . Cafe was extremely reasonably priced, farm is lovely and you can interact with the animals inside the pens too. It's a small farm and the play... More

Having my brother, wife and their young daughter stay with us we were looking for somewhere to spend a few hours to keep the little one happy. I had never been to Rookery open farm before (we had always gone to mead open farm when our children were young) so thought we would give it a go. Admission price for... More

Nice place to take the kids for a few hours, plenty to see and do, get up close with goats, lambs, rabbits. Large petting area. Outside theres a nice walk where you can let your kids run free and visit horses, sheep, cows and goats. Feeding opportunies available as well. At the end of the walk theres a playground area... Our party was 2 adults and 3 children and it cost us £31 entrance fee and it was cash only. There wasn't alot for the youngest to play on in the soft play area as 2 of them were under 5 so we spent alot of time petting the animals in their pens or in the outside play area which... More

I can't believe the price for admission, so very expensive.. We decided to have lunch when we got to the farm as we called ahead and we were informed that they had a Tearoom ..... Well, apart from a poor choice of pre packed sandwiches, packet sausage rolls, three flavour of crisps and chocolate bars .. Nothing was suitable for... More
