Lovely interesting gardens and magnificent trees. Only £5 entry per person. Also a church and orangery can be viewed as well as a walk around the lake where the dogs were allowed off their leads. A children's play area was next to the coffee shop where we enjoyed drinks and an ice cream.

The gardens/grounds are beautiful. Wish we could have seen the castle itself. Had to rent a car to visit the area.

I have been visiting Castle Ashby for years. It's important to avoid disappointment to note that the "castle" isn't really a traditional castle so much as it is a grand mansion, and the castle and the garden surrounding it is not open to the public, but viewable from their stunning botanical acres around it. The gardens are beautifully kept, sectioned... More

We spent a very enjoyable morning at Castle Ashby Gardens. It has superb walks and pleasing vistas. The small yet well priced garden centre is a treat although not the biggest its prices are amongst the best value we have come across at such attractions. Try the cafe and you will not be disappointed, the choice of food was good... More

The gardens at Castle Ashby are a mixture of the formal and the natural, with beds and woodland. There is a very nice cafe as well. Excellent value.

My wife and I had a lovely meal at the TOBY restaurant E. Hunsbury and then we came to unwind at our favourite spot in Northampton. The Matlese cross was in full bloom and the day was really sunny. They now have a very good childrens play area with lots of climbing frames for the youngsters to explore. The cafe... More

Bank Holiday weekend, we came across these gardens, we stopped and had coffee and lunch in the coffee shop, what a find, the coffee shop served lovely sandwiches and cakes, very very reasonable prices, the gardens are beautiful, we also went into the craft fair, lovely stalls, selling unusual gifts, we had a great day out.

Very good food and service. They had run out of some of the items but there was enough choice on the menu to pick something else. Outside seating lovely in the May sunshine.

Visited on Bank Holiday Monday and dispute the rain was very impressed. There was a craft fair on, which we didn't expect and was a nice surprise. The quality of the products was good. I purchased some unusual gifts. The gardens were lovely and well kept. We visited the church in the grounds, worth a visit. Will definitely go back... More

Took a coach load of 40 here today and had an amazing time. The poor coffee shop was a bit overwhelmed but dealt with us all efficiently. They suggested we ordered lunch then so it was ready when we all returned from our guided tour. Pete the guide was excellent, faced us and spoken loud and clear about all sorts... More
