Our family group enjoyed the Malcolm Arnold Gala Concert, which included works by Grieg, Sibelius and Rachmaninov as well as, of course, Malcolm Arnold. Our only disappointment was the fact that Martin James Bartlett was unable to play the "Rach Two", due to a tendon problem, but he gave a sparkling virtuoso performance of his Rhapsody on a Theme by... I've been to see both adult and children's shows at the Royal and Derngate and a mixture of theatre, concerts and comedy, all of which have been fantastic nights out. The website is easy to use and the option to choose your seats always works well. There a large car park right next to the theatre that we have always... More

Have been to many shows over the years, from musicals, pantomimes and bands such as 10cc recently. And we hope to keep going back for such a good variety of entertainment at a local venue. Some aspects are not so good, such as previously mentioned - the foyer area is not very appealing and car parking is not as easy... More

The revamp of the Royal and Derngate must rank as one of the worst of its kind in the country.. The foyer areas are very down market with very few tables and chairs particularly in the Royal foyer area. It feels more like a railway station than a theatre with a an unintelligible PA system probably bought from British rail... More

Visited the Theatre for the final night of "Jersey Nights." The thing I like about it is the fact that it is not too big and as such the interaction is far superior to large venues. I believe it seats less than 600 people? We had a box over the stage which had 8 seats in it and felt like... More

lovely setting for a night out, clean and the ushers are very helpful. A little pricey but worth it for the variety of acts you can see. Prices in the restaurant are average.

1st visit to Royal & Derngate and came away with aching sides as we had laughed so much. This was an up close & personal night with the Scouse comedian and was brilliant in the intimate Royal theatre. Very handy Multi-storey car park two minutes down the road and restaurants just round the corner. Pricey drinks at theatre bar.

Had a great evening watching the last in the run for the guys and girls of New Jersey Nights. Fantastic show and glad we saw it.

Went to see New Jersey nights. It was a Saturday matinee and it was half empty. Sat in upper circle front row, had a great view. The show was fab for such a small cast. Singing and dancing with the odd joke thrown in I really enjoyed did as did my hubby.
