The highlight of the visit was the guided tour. As there is a tour every 15 minutes, this seems to keep the tour groups small. Although the tour was only 45 minutes long, we were shown a good numbers of very nice rooms, with the commentary being interesting and fast paced. The formal gardens were quite extensive, very colourful and... More

Our visit was a birthday treat for my wife. Arriving at 2.00 pm we were booked in for the 3.00pm guided tour of the hall which enabled us to first visit the formal gardens and the wild garden both of which were beautifully laid out and maintained with plenty of colour. Our very friendly guide for the tour of the... More

Beautiful gardens - noticeably well-managed trees and shrubs pruned into elegant but largely natural-seeming shapes, allowing the space to breathe. Wild garden lovely (saw a fox). Extremely well thought-out planting and structures throughout, with many peaceful spots to sit. Subtle colour combinations (eg pale pink dahlias with bronze foliage mixed with blue catananche with some tall purple plants I didn't... More

disappointed with gardens, were not kept to a high standard like at coton manor gardens. Tour inside: tour guide was a little brusque, almost rude just spoke mainly about the paintings, and porcelain didn't know much about other items. Wouldn't recommend to others. You could purchase cake in coffee shop but couldn't see the cake you were getting.

Visited for the first time for a Handlebars performance of "A midsummer Nights Dream". Wonderful venue for such an event with the backdrop of the House, and the opportunity to walk the gardens and picnic before the event started. Would like to pay a visit to the house in its own right.

Visited this lovely Hall & Gardens and was not disappointed at all-everything runs like clockwork there and the tour of the house and delightful guide made it so interesting. Very pretty gardens too. (Also yummy cake in the tea rooms!)

Stumbled upon this place by chance. Beautiful gardens and an interesting tour of the house. This said, it was a bit unnerving having doors locked behind you. Presumably having two guides for a group of just 6 was also a security measure. The guide who spoke was clearly knowledgeable and the gardens provided numerous photo opportunities.

Lovely gardens but not worth the entrance fee, even as a concession! What attraction these days does not accept debit or credit card but accepts cheques? Refreshments oh yes cash only! Staff unhelpful, in order to get cash for refreshments there only suggestion was to travel to a cash machine - in the next village! We had to cut our... More

Lovely parkland & gardens! It's in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We also visited the house which was nice as it had some great paintings & porcelains. Had a nice slice of homemade cake & cup of tea in the tearoom. All in all a very pleasant visit will be back again!

Cottesbrooke Hall and Gardens were recommended to us by family and we were not disappointed with our visit. The extensive park surrounding the Hall and gardens kept us entertained for nearly an hour before we took the tour of the Hall. What a delightful home and the numerous sporting paintings are among the best collection in the UK.
