The guided tour was very thorough and run by a person (with a splendid moustache!) who was clearly passionate about the place. Lots of fascinating insights and anecdotes - well worth the 90 minutes it took. Opens at 2 and first tour is 2.15.

A very interesting day out. I was born no too far from here but was not aware at all about its fascinating history. Spend some time here to learn a lot about this very famous family. Well worth the trip

We visited Lamport Hall on a day when the Northamptonshire Art and Crafts Associations held exhibitions and craft-making sessions. These were in the Stable Block Courtyard. The House was open for guided tours; well-worth the hour ( a bit longer actually) that we spent in, the house learning about the Isham family that lived here. Being a lovely Summer's day,... More

Went for the Country Fair and it was a full day out with enough going on to keep everyone happy for the whole day. Excellent value for money and food, drink, etc., was all a reasonable price. The hall itself is well worth a visit and the gardens delightful.

Lovely house on a par with national trust properties, though its a shame they are not a member (purely from an expense point of view. Nice garden though there are a LOT of gnomes! The kids enjoy gnome spotting, so its quite good fun! I would also recommend the antiques and vintage fairs that are held here twice a year.... More

Lamport Hall is an excellent example of the Country House which remains in the family and is now run as a commercial business to help with its vast maintenance costs. It is a little smaller than some of the other well-known properties but it is truly worth a visit for the wealth of interior decorations, such as original panel paintings,... More

A pleasant house, nicely presented but not of real interest although the staff were very helpful and well informed about the property and its history.

Despite living just a couple of miles down the road, I've never been inside the actual hall because it's a private house and not covered by the National Trust (I'm too mean to pay extar). However I go to their open air theatre performances every summer. They generally have one in June (around midsummer) and one in late July -... More
