The tour guide kept us confined in the entrance hall for the first 15 minutes, describing EVERY painting and piece of furniture. This was despite the fact that we had already spent 10 minutes in the entrance hall waiting for the tour to start. The tour group was far too large (22 adults plus a baby) and when we managed... This is a beautiful house that has been lovingly restored-sadly only open for 3 hours on the few days it is open during the year. 3 hours is really not enough sadly, if-as like us- you had a tour guide of the house that took an hour and a half to talk about so many things that we sadly stopped... We stumbled on this historical house and gardens after looking round the Kelmarsh House gardens nearby. We arrived just in time to join a conducted tour and we found it very interesting. There was plenty to see and our guide called Eric had an intimate knowledge of the family and the way it had conducted itself over the years. I... More

We called in to Lamport Hall as we were passing and were so glad that we did. The house has a wealth of interest and the gardens whilst not in full bloom during our visit were still a picture with the spring bulbs.

Love coming here for a vintage/craft fairs and will be visiting the country fair at the end of May. Would like to pay less to get in though.

Great place to visit only negative is lack of opening days otherwise would have given higher mark. Tour was very informative. Grounds pleasant with good venue for a cup of tea. Recommend a visit.

We have previously attended a wedding at Lamport Hall but the most recent visit was to an Antiques Fair. There are many 'nooks and crannies' to visit and it's a great area for a picnic. Lots of Parking but a shortage of toilets.

House The house is not so grand as it's near neighbours Althorp, Kelmarsh & Cottesbrook but had a charm of it's own and a lived in feel. Our lady guide was very informative and identified most of the portrait paintings of the family and others also allowing plenty of time for us to look around the rooms. Unlike most other... More
