Seems to be mixed reviews for this ghost walk. The curator is quite entertaining and keeps your attention although the actual ghost stories themselves aren't that good - maybe there just aren't enough ghosts in York? If not, make it up because York is a great setting for a ghost walk. The walk lasts about an hour, starts on the... More

We were expecting more actual ghost stories, or tales of what happened where in York. Sadly we got less than an hour of over-played foolishness. It was only an hour because of the dramatic "pauses" and "you come up here" type stuff. There were four actual tales. Four. The last one the women and children were to go to the... More

I found this a bit of a disappointment. The tour guide played his part well in his cape and top hat, but for my taste, there were too many gimmicks. These included tricks like pretending to cut his arm with a knife and then getting a member of the group to mop up the blood. He tried to summon a... More

We went here hoping to find interesting stories on all the secrets, scares and ghosts of York. This tour did not deliver. The tour guide played his part well enough, bringing an eerie feeling to the tour from the start with his outfit and his manner of speaking. Unfortunately the same could not be said about the stories on the... More

So many of these ghost trails of *insert city name here* are repetitive, tired and just a man in a funny outfit. But this was exceptional! So very very funny, relevant to the city, fantastically performed, playful, tongue in cheek just enough for adults, and scary enough for kids. The "Unimportant" (aka Dan) is funnier than the majority of stand... More

We saw a sign for the York Ghost Hunt and thought for £5 we would give it a go, we are so glad we did. The guide was hilarious and such a character, the stories were amazing and it was such a unique way to see York. I was chosen as a volunteer which was a little bit scary but... More

Highly entertaining and great fun. Haven't laughed as much in ages despite the rain. Nice one Dan. Great start to our weekend in York trying to avoid the cyclists. All the best. From The Big one!

I don't understand the reviews slating this tour for being cheesy or comical, that's the whole point. It was fun, the guide was great with the crowd which was a wide age range and whilst I don't suppose it was factually correct we had a great time, 75 mins of fun for £5,what's not to like!

I was expecting historical stories and an interesting guided tour but alas it was more light entertainment for the masses. Would not recommend it unless you are looking for weak comedy. Vaguely amusing in parts but only at others expense when they are made to interact

Second time with Andy and he didn't disappoint, superb entertainment and a great night out, if your stuck for something to do just wander up to the shambles and join the ghost hunt of York.
