Brilliant its a must when in York Victorian Guide in his frock coat, cape and top hat is excellent entertainment with his bell ringing and strange manner thoroughly enjoyable.

Thank you for a wonderful nights babysitting our daughter Mia, who wouldn't let you out of her sight!! We did your walk way back in 2007 and it was fantastic then, and tonight you didn't disappoint. A great evenings entertainment and loads of fantastic stories - shame the Italian was closed ;) We'll be back again soon.

My son and I went on this walk on a soggy night just after Christmas. And it was hilarious from start to finish. The guide has a ferocious, cadaverous air, delighting in a) making us jump and b) riffing. Any passers by were engaged in the proceedings and we, the audience, were treated, teased and thrilled by his stories and... More

The walk is just over an hour and a half long. This is more of an entertainment value than hearing plenty of ghost stories. There are a few stories told but if all you want is to hear things that happened and history then this is not the right tour for you. This is a few stories, a bit of... More

Got us sticking our tongues out at people eating in an Italian restaurant ...what was that all about? Felt more like time filling rather than genuine scary story telling. The guide gave us more of an audience participation stand-up comedy routine, rather than a ghost 'hunt' (hunt??), or ghost story walk. Weird and wouldn't recommend, certainly not at £16 for... More

Not at all what we would call a Ghost Walk...very bizarre and most people wondered why we were on it. Got us sticking our tongues out at people eating in an Italian restaurant ...ridiculous and embarrassing. Wish we had tried a different one.

We enjoyed our 'ghost walk' great entertainment, very funny, kids loved it. It was a good walk around the city, looked at some beautiful architecture and heard some gruesome and very funny tales too. Cost us £5 each and £3 for children.

This is more entertaining than seriously scary, we had really nice group and good interaction so it was very enjoyable. Tour guide was entertaining and good story teller. It's 5£ so worth the money, you see a bit of York and especially when it's dark like now, quite fascinating.

If this is the best Ghost walk in York, then I wouldn't bother. We went on this tour on Halloween night, thinking this would be a great for the kids. They're happy to take your money, but from then onward's it went down hill. They split us into groups then walked off at such a pace it was clear they... More

The 7.30 Ghost Hunt from The Shambles was brilliant. The tour guide is in character and provided non-stop entertainment for all ages. Great value and a memorable trip round York.
