Don't waste your money. The only thing they do is making the people from the crowd to pretend they are victims and then describe the whole torture process in detail. It's not scary, not funny, it is just disgusting. Knowledge of "scary York" is doubtful as well. Better visit the free excursion in the morning - much more informative and... More

Got us sticking our tongues out at people eating in an Italian restaurant ...what was that all about? Felt more like time filling rather than genuine scary story telling. The guide gave us more of an audience participation stand-up comedy routine, rather than a ghost 'hunt' (hunt??), or ghost story walk. Weird and wouldn't recommend, certainly not at £16 for... More

Not at all what we would call a Ghost Walk...very bizarre and most people wondered why we were on it. Got us sticking our tongues out at people eating in an Italian restaurant ...ridiculous and embarrassing. Wish we had tried a different one.

We enjoyed our 'ghost walk' great entertainment, very funny, kids loved it. It was a good walk around the city, looked at some beautiful architecture and heard some gruesome and very funny tales too. Cost us £5 each and £3 for children.

This is more entertaining than seriously scary, we had really nice group and good interaction so it was very enjoyable. Tour guide was entertaining and good story teller. It's 5£ so worth the money, you see a bit of York and especially when it's dark like now, quite fascinating.

If this is the best Ghost walk in York, then I wouldn't bother. We went on this tour on Halloween night, thinking this would be a great for the kids. They're happy to take your money, but from then onward's it went down hill. They split us into groups then walked off at such a pace it was clear they... More

The 7.30 Ghost Hunt from The Shambles was brilliant. The tour guide is in character and provided non-stop entertainment for all ages. Great value and a memorable trip round York.

Don't really no what to say this wasnt what we expected at all. There was 150 people on it which was a shock. It wasn't a typical ghost telling walk definitely not scary really bizarre. He had us waving and pulling faces at the window of a Italian restraunt this was very embarrassing and strange. Everyone was saying " why... More

Just spent the evening in the company of at least 80 people on this ghost walk, very enjoyable and very entertaining hour and half. Same old stories (if you've been on other ghost walks) but crowd interaction and humour makes this a good walk to do.

My partner and I decided it would be fun to do a ghost walk while on our trip to York! We said for a fiver it it's rubbish we don't mind. We arrived at the Golden Fleece and joined the waiting croud, shortly after we heard a bell and and man dressed all in black with a top hat emerged!... More
