'Idiot' truffles!

Amazing class! Our teacher was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of tips handling chocolate, history of chocolate and York! Definitely coming back for another class!

We passed this lovely chocolate shop/cafe and thought it looked wonderful. In one part of it, you can see them making the most delicious chocolates, the middle part is the shop with lots (but not an overwhelming amount) of gorgeous treats and the final part is like a tea house. Amazing looking cakes and drinks on offer. We went twice... More

We walked past this shop and decided to book the chocolate making experience for the next day as we were on a double birthday celebration weekend in York. I was a bit scared but needn't have worried it was a very relaxed atmosphere and great fun and we came away with personalised, huge bars of chocolate.

Had a great time making our own chocolate bar. It was a relaxed atmosphere and welcome introduction to York's chocolate history - would absolutely recommend it. Only downside was that the fee was a little pricey for what it was - £18 per person is a little steep, however we did enjoy it.

My mum, auntie and I visited the York cocoa house for a truffle making workshop. We didn't know what to expect when we arrived but were welcomed by the very dry but very humorous Matthew. His knowledge of chocolate was second to none and he intrigued (disgusted) us with tales of beef flavoured chocolate and blue cheese truffles! We were... More

Visited Easter Sunday so was a great way to indulge in chocolate after Lent. The children really enjoyed making the chocolate models which they are so proud of they refuse to eat! We adults enjoyed the peace by relaxing with coffee and cake. Plan this into your schedule as it entertains and informs in an unrushed setting and the chocolate... More

We visited York cocoa house on mothers day. From the moment we walked in (early) we were so well looked after. Sophie the owner exudes passion and knowledge about all things chocolate which is contagious! We enjoyed a relaxed lunch, hubby and I gorged on the sharing plate, v generous and delicious. Kids shared a soup and wrap. All dishes... More

We booked on the 10am Chocolate Bar workshop, and arrived for breakfast beforehand. The food was imaginative, with chocolate included in every item - even the savoury ones. The workshop was great fun. Although we were among a group of 6 adults, they do accept accompanied children aged 4 and above, and adapt the workshop to meet the needs of... More

We had savoury items for lunch. Service was slow and the place wasn't busy. £6.95 for cheese on toast with a side salad seems expensive. The other choice, an open sandwich seemed overpriced as well. The plus point was a big teapot of tea. Don't think we will return, unfortunately, when there are many better cafes round about. The loo... More
