A very pleasant way to spend 45 minutes in the sun traveling up and down the river. The commentary was very interesting and useful to all travelers and history buffs alike. The boats were large safe and had toilets and bar refreshments available. Two landing stages meant that you had a choice of where to board or leave. Other cruises... More

On our first day in York we encountered the rudest of people. My husband politely asked when the first sailing of the day took place. When he couldn't hear the reply as the person turned his back when speaking, he then asked The Captain who was walking up the slipway, he replied in the most aggressive and unfriendly manner '... Hi. Thank you for your review. I am very disappointed and sorry to hear you didn't have a positive YorkBoat experience. If I am being bluntly honest, it would be very out of character for our staff to say they didn't like their job or refuse to give their name. Perhaps if you could email us at info@yorkboat.co.uk with further... More

Not much to see that you wouldnt see from walking but nice to be able to put your feet up if you've been walking to the various sights. The best bit is watching the Skipper doing two perfect U-turns in water that is barely wider than the length of the boat.

Glad you got to put your feet up and enjoy the sights along the river. I am sure the skipper will be pleased to hear their driving has been commented on. More

We took the evening tour. Very relaxing. Tour guide gave a nice overview of the sites. Pretty houses on river edge.

we did a short cruise as it was very sunny. we did not use the bar / tea or other facilities as we had some. but the boats are licensed and serve throughout the boat. 45 minutes. feet up and relax as we had footslogged since 9.00 am just a chill out.

A pleasant way to while away an hour or so if the weather is nice. You can certainly sit downstairs under cover but if it's raining, it might be a crush. There are two landing stages. We got on ar number 2 which is Kings Staith Landing. It then goes onto number 1 which is Lendal Bridge and this is... More

Thanks for your recommendation and review. In answer to some of your quires: 1, We have a completely accessible boat called the River Duchess which includes a disabled toilet. We also have the River Palace, which I am guessing you were on. This is accessible, but doesn't have the disabled toilet. 2, The bar is open throughout the cruise. 3,... More

Having been on one if these in Chester, we thought we would give it a go. £8 for 45 minutes. Not many people aboard so had choice of seats. Les, our captain, was very informative with a good sense of humour. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Went on the York city cruise as part of the York Pass. Nice little baot ride if a little shot in good weather. however the guide was reading his notes form a book, he didn't know the information like may of the other tours around york, as he was reading it from a crib sheet it meant a distinct lack... Thanks for your review. The York Pass is excellent value for money, we hope you enjoyed making the most of it. We do have 2 new skippers, who passed recently, so it maybe one of those who needed some prompts from their info sheets. Both are doing an excellent job though. More

My husband and I went on the cruise at 1 40. It was great fun. We sat on the top deck and enjoyed the commentary and the view. The captain was very informative and knew his stuff. There is an on board bar which is always good. It was cold as the weather was cloudy but it isn't their fault.... More
