Recently went to see a production of Woman In Black at the theatre. It is a lovely old building in the heart of York. Easy to get to, friendly staff and an outstanding performance. Will definitely be back again.

Saw the South here (Formerly the beautiful South), an excellent band, but the venue was wrong. When you have to sit still to see an excellent band, it seems wrong. The venue itself is beautiful, but i wanted to dance, and so did the band, but mrs snobby i cant see behind us, didn't like it. Not the venues fault,... More

Nice atmosphere in this theatre, staff helpful. Gordon Hendrick as Elvis in this show was fantastic! He not only looked the part but sounded great as well.

This is a great theatre in a great city, we get some very good shows both touring and from the theatre company and of course the panto with Berwick Kaler is a national institution if you like a bit of childish fun at christmas. The building is closing for a few months next year for refurbishment and we are really... More

Shabby - the theatre needs a huge injection of cash. The seats and carpeting have seen better days and could do with refurbishing, which is shame and it spoils a very handsome building.

It takes a troupe with real professionalism and good directing to put on an adaptation of 1984. This was the kind of performance that ad the audience entranced past the final scene blackout and it took a moment before they rose to acknowledge the cast. Great performance. A fine theatre.
