There's stiff competition in York, but this is one of the best. Great York Brewery ales on permanently and a rotating selection of interesting guests. It's always convivial and attracts a good mix of people, like a proper pub should. In short, it's well run and a pleasure to visit. I haven't tried the food, but the crisps are certainly... More

As my title says. My quiet night with friends was disturbed by a grumpy barman. When I complained at his manner he was very aggressive. I could understand if I had been drunk and violent, but after only two pints, there wasn't much chance of that. A sad way to end things - I've been drinking there for a few... More

Good beer, pleasant staff, but the singer was utterly atrocious and ruined the visit. Appalling and talentless.

Nice little bar with barrel tables and a large window to watch the street entertainment nearby! Lovely fish finger sandwiches, try one!

On a Hot & Sunny Monday we visited York by train. After a quick wander round the excellent shops (according to she who must be obeyed!) we had to call into this delightful pub as we always do when in York. Ales were excellent and samples were given to enable me to decide which was the most suitable to my... More

Called in The Last Drop Inn to kill an hour while my husband went for a medical. Our greyhound, Razor, was welcomed with open arms by Chris, the barman/owner. I had a pint of Old Rosie and a Beef Sandwich with a killer horseradish dressing. The cider was perfect and the sandwich out of this world. We are already planning... More

We heard the music! A young singer by the name Paul Liddell was playing and sounded incredible. You had planned to call it a night and head back to the hotel...but his voice drew us in. The pub is basic and beers are normal. But the atmosphere was electric. FUN locals sitting around listening to this young singer. Great NIGHT!
