Really enjoyed having dinner at this pub. Tasty food, very friendly staff, great beer! The weather was good, so we had a chance to sit in the garden.

An old world style restaurant pub, close to the centre of York lots of outside space for eating and drinking on warm days with plenty of indoor tables too. The young staff were friendly, helpful, and willing to try to accommodate all ages. We were a party of 6 age range from 19 to 76 and felt comfortable and well... More

Family night out with large group of people, mixed generation from 25 to 75 years. The night was spoilt by an over zealous bouncer picking on certain members of the group upon entry, we were told to leave without being given an adequate enough reason and the assistant manager was unhelpful, passed the book back to the bar staff and... The staff are very friendly and attentive, the outdoor seating is very nice for warm summer evenings. Not tried the food it looks very nice with a wide selection of home cooked British food. The Stella gold is very well kept and a very nice drink!

One drink. This place isn't really worth more than that, but it is lovely to sit in the courtyard on a clear night. The pub itself is lovely inside but there's just something about it that doesn't draw you in. According to friends, the beer was alright but nothing special.

Bad customer service I had a voucher for £1 pint and the lady behind the bar was so off hand with me and it seemed like is was an inconvenience to her. Been many times before and sad to say another pub deserves my business!

Popped in here for a swift soft drink. Very nice interior with plenty of history about the place, photographs adorning the walls. Didnt eat but the food looked great, staff service and turnout was impeccable. This is also very popular with locals to York and indeed a favourite of certain members of 90's band Shed 7 who frequent the establishment... More
