The link with Terry's chocolates provides an instant connection with the lives of the Terry family who built and lived at this lovely Arts and Crafts house. The National Trust is developing this property as an informal visit where one is invited to sit in the the lounge, read a book or enjoy a glass of sherry. A children's room... More

We visited on a Saturday, the house is also the National Trust regional offices, so parking is unavailable during the week. The house is an Arts & Crafts delight, it's clearly a work in progress but lovely none the less. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly but not pushy. The tea room (always a good barometer!) was very stylish, not cheap... More

Staying in York and being members of the National Trust decided to visit. The website is slightly misleading with regards parking at the property, as we read it that there was no parking and to use several park and ride options. However, there is parking for at least thirty cars at the property and we had no issues finding a... More

A very interesting place to visit and the gardens are delightful. Good for children with toys in the playroom.

My wife and I visited Goddards on Easter Sunday. The place was busy but there was still ample parking in the grounds. The staff were very welcoming and informative plus there was the bonus of plates of chocolate being offered in several rooms! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming although it was odd to find some people dining in the... More

Lovely displays, homemade scones and produce in the cafe. Volunteers are very helpful and knowledgable. Will be visiting again. For parking, park at the pay and display at the nearby Tesco. £4 all day.

Enjoyed my two recent visitors and found the staff to be most friendly and informative. I used to work at the Castle Museum and used to discuss Terry's to the visitors based on the recreated shop that is at the museum. The Tea Room is excellent and enjoyed a wonderful lunch! Will visit again.

Have visited the small but enjoyable garden before and this time I was very impressed with the house, the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the food in the tea room.
