Goddards is quite a small house compared to some National Trust properties, but it's full of interest and beautiful arts and crafts detail and feels comfortably homely. A nice touch was to be able to take coffee in the drawing room, beside a blazing log fire. But the most impressive part of our visit was the friendliness and knowledge of... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit there. Very nice little tea room serving delicious home made food and tasty drinks. Helpful friendly staff. Interesting exhibitions in the house and beautiful gardens. When you pass through the gateway from the main road you certainly don't expect to find such a grand, elegant house set in acres of gardens. The house re-opens... More

Greeted by friendly informative staff. Plenty of information available and knowledgeable staff to fill in any further points. Liked the fact that you were able to sit on the furniture in front of a real fire in the sitting room.

Yes this is the home of the Terry family - yes those who produced the chocolate orange - but as a home it is well-worthwhile taking a tour. Two levels with several rooms on each floor open to visitors, with a delightful tea room - odours from the kitchen permeate through much of the house. The gardens are also worth... More

Goddards is excellent telling the story of the Terry's Chocolate family, they were an amazing family who developed chocolate that we all enjoy. The enthusiasm by the staff for the house was so obvious that no one could leave without an appreciation of history of the house. The gardens are quite magnificent and even on our wet day were a... Beautiful and quite large Arts and Crafts house set in some lovely gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the lady at the entrance happily answering questions about Rowntree's as well as Terry's! The food from the restaurant looked lovely - although we didn't stop and try it today as there was a wait for tables. Unfortunately the original... More

Goddards was built in the 1920's as the home of Noel Terry (of Terry's Chocolate Orange fame) and his family. It is a red brick house built in the arts and crafts style and has some beautiful details. There is a splendid restaurant in the house which serves drinks, light meals and cakes. The restaurant has a wonderful period feel... More

Our second time at Goddard's, and an excellent place to visit. The exhibition of Terry's chocolate packaging made the trip well worthwhile, but all the aspects of the house and garden are interesting. The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, and the tea room a pleasant place to be.

Enjoyed a day to the Goddard's - peek inside the life of how the Goddard's used to live - full of history.

We had been going to visit for some time but only just got round to it. What a pity... The house was interesting, the gardens were beautiful and bigger than they look. We had afternoon tea and that was delicious
