Nice Victorian station with excellent architecture. It has all amientites required although only some platforms have modern waiting rooms, some don't have any. The toilets are in a 1960's block which really could do with being replaced. Pleanty of eataries, basic stuff you usually find in a station and of course a WH Smith. It's right next to the National... More

A very nice station and with quite a selection of food and drink for sale. The only downside is the subway lift with smells literally like a bathroom.

York Station is in a high spot above the town and across the river from the Shambles and the Cathedral. The toilets on the station used to be really good years ago but the last time I went they weren't' good. I am not a train buff but if you leave the station and head to the right you will... More

The building has a certain to charm to it - it is also ideally situated for a pleasant walk by the walls to any city centre location.

York Railway Station is small as major stations go but it is one of the most important stations on the British rail network due to its location and being a key juncture point roughly equidistant between London and Edinburgh. The Station building (opened in 1877) is a Grade II listed building made of beautiful light sandstone with arched entryways and... More

Good rail station. Surprisingly very clean. It provides easy access to the railway museum. Many activities such as york dungeons can b accessed by walking or catching the sight seeing bus outside the rail station. Staff are friendly.

I can sometimes get nervous in stations I've not visited - expecting to make a mess of my travel arrangements, but the grand station in York is as easy on the eye as it is to work out. There's a pub and a Burger King too, what's not to like?

Our journey from King Cross to York was excellent, our seats were reserved, there was a buffet car for drinks and eats and although the train was very full it could not have been better. When we got off our train and looked around for the exit, everyone was crossing over the track via the stairs, however, we could not... More
