Wasn't keen to go as had been to Edinburgh dungeons before but hubby wanted to. Luckily we saw a two for one brochure before we arrived, would have been seriously put out to pay £14.00 per person for this. Basically it is a bit of a panto, the young men and women certainly throw themsleves into their parts and it... more

We visited this attraction on Monday 16th Nov. I dont know how busy it gets in Summer, but it was nice to just walk in and get on with it. You are led into a dungeon area and then you have short walks around dark corridors between rooms, where actors renact scenes and stories from Yorks past. It is a... more

We read the reviews here for the dungeons and so entered with a little trepidation, in truth we were well entertained and informed and enjoyed the show. It is reasonably expensive but.. it is in the UK, so thats normal, the actors did a good job. more

We took our 6 year old son who was scared, so I would recommend for childen who are 8 or over. It's good fun and the actors are great. It's not cheap, but good fun! Book in advance and you can then go to the priority entrance and avoid the long queues. more

It was half term so had to que for 45mins but expected this. Luckily we had a 2 for 1 voucher, so only cost us £7 each instead of the usual £14 each!! Not as much atmosphere as London Dungeons and not as many "scares" either - would still recommend though if you can get your hands on the 2... more

If you like a laugh, are not easily offended and like the darker side of history then the York Dungeons are right up your street. Fantastic actors ( Well done to all! ) and great, spooky theming really set you up for a cracking 90 mins in the dark with quite a few surprises thrown in for good measure. The... more

I took my grandchildren(10 and 15) to the York Dungeon and paid £34 for the 3 of us.I had promised to take them before I knew the price. I personally didn't think it was worth the money.Their verdict, although they enjoyed it was that it was OK.We later went on a pony and trap ride round the streets of York(from... more

I had the great misfortune of wasting two hours of my life standing in line yesterday at the York dungeon, two hours of trite tales that I will never get back, and I fear I will never forget. For all the wrong reasons: monotony rather than the macabre seared onto my mind forever. We queued outside the building for what... more
