The most amazing place ever, well worth the ticket price to get in and a bonus that the ticket can be used again free of charge within the next 12 months. The victorian street transformed u back to bygone times and allowed you to visualise life in the victorian era, the sounds and smells were authentic and it was fabulous... More

York Castle Museum represents great value for money - you only pay for adults and at £8.50 a go, it's well worth it. The best part is the Victorian Street, much extended since my last visit many years ago. I kept my kids, two boys ages 8 and a girl of 4, happy and occupied for three hours and we... More

The museum was good but the Victorian street was the best. There was also a friendly man working there who told us about the history of the museum.

Value for money, does not cover the entertainment and enjoyment visiting York Castle Museum gave us. I took my two children to visit the museum expecting them to be amused for an hour. The children were free of charge and my ticket was £8.50. There was so much to see and do with lots of information boards, different smelling pots,... More

This is a very interesting and well laid out museum. It's suitable for children aged from 7 years upwards - my 8 and 13 year olds really enjoyed it. There's lots to do inside, lots of interactive and crafty things to do, and you could easily spend a good few hours here. There are actors inside the museum which bring... More

We spent over two hours there. It was that good because I'm normally in and out of museums in no time. A fascinating time capsule and well worth a visit

Again this is a ticket that lasts for a year so well worth the money. A lot of varied attractions including a full street and themed displays on topics such as cleaning etc - obviously social history is important. The prison part is also good, with the tales of the inmates. and even in daylight its full of atmosphere. Theres... More

We visited York Castle Museum recently, on a short break to Yorkshire with a Tour company. Not quite sure what to expect, and as my husband has problems with lots of stairs and long walks, due to a lung condition, we hoped there would be things to do without him having to struggle too much. The very helpful young lady... More
