Like all the best masters of disguise it’s gone by many names: Eboracum, Eoforvic, Jorvic… today we just call it York. It has many weapons: battles, murders, terrible accidents and deliberate neglect. This city has two sides, the one it wants you to see and the one it doesn’t. It hides it down back streets and in the corner of your eye. We shouldn’t want to see it but we do. The terror trail can show it to you…The tour starts 6.45pm every night from York’s most haunted pub the Golden Fleece Inn.Adults: £5Children: £2 « less

Really enjoyed this tour as it was more about history and gruesome events than ghost stories lol and our guide, Joseph, was brilliant! really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Made the stories really interesting with the way he told them and getting the crowd involved. Also added humour to take the edge off some of the morbid tales lol the trip ended... More

We had heard that this was one of the best of the several "walks" about York, and were not disappointed. Our outstanding guide, Ben Rosenfeld, took our small group through the old city around the Shambles, with periodic stops and lively descriptions of events in York's history involving torture, blood, and gore. Also enjoyed decompressing at the Golden Fleece afterwards... More

Had a great time! Really enjoyed it and very informative. Massive shout out to our tour guide Joseph who's humour and kindness made the trail very enjoyable! Also excellent idea to end the terror trail in the golden fleece as a pint and chat with everyone who attended was a fun way to end the night!

This was the first attraction me and the girlfriend visited when in York. It was recommend to us by a magazine of things to do in York. The recommendation was spot on. It was brilliant, our guide was James, his mix of humour and and seriousness was brilliant, and he added some light humour to some very disturbing stories. I... More

I am a big history/ghost geek and I dragged my girlfriend with me on this because it was highly recommended to us by some friends. The man who took us around on the talk (to which his name doesn't quite ring a bell) was very good. I spoke to him before hand about ghosts in the Golden Fleece and he... More

Our guide Joseph was knowledgeable and very entertaining. We really enjoyed the 'horrible history' style of delivery. Audience participation done in friendly manner. Would recommend it even for children as young as 8.
