York Terror Trail, a history tour of the horrors of York. There is a monster, 1900 years old, thousands have died in its name. Like all the best masters of disguise it’s gone by many names: Eboracum, Eoforvic, Jorvic… today we just call it York. It has many weapons: battles, murders, terrible accidents and deliberate neglect. This city has two sides, the one it wants you to see and the one it doesn’t. It hides it down back streets and in the corner of your eye. We shouldn’t want to see it but we do. The terror trail can show it to you…The tour starts 6.45pm every night from York’s most haunted pub the Golden Fleece Inn.Adults: £5Children: £2

We went on the tour this evening expecting lots of ghost stories. Turns out it's not that kind of tour. This was very much based on fact around gruesome stories from Yorks history. They were excellenty told and demonstrated by the guide, with just the right amount of humour thrown in to lighten the mood between the very gory and... More

the tour was both insightful and scary at the same time, suitable for all ages,as our tour guide catered for everyone. He was very entertaining and brought the stories to life with a very theatrical verve an really got you feeling the emotional side to each event a remarkable talent!! Money well spent!!

First tour I've ever been on and I really did enjoy did think the other people on the tour with kids ruined for others tho the kids kept butting in and wouldn't let the poor guy finish what he was saying Thomas (i believe he was called) did handle them well but to be fair I don't think it's a... Starts and finishes at the Golden Fleece, York's most haunted pub. Take the time to have a meal here before or after your tour. The tour is both informative and fun. Our guide Thomas was dressed the part as the airman, one of the Golden Fleece's ghostly characters and was great with all ages but especially the kids. He is... More

The Terror trail starts each night at 6.45 from the Golden Fleece pub, the cost is £5.00 and worth every penny, it is interesting and informative and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Fresh back from the tour with James, a really great way to start an evening in York. Educate yourself with dark historic tails of York before the alcohol destroys all brain activity. Came to York for a birthday get away and it's truly lived up to expectations and the terror trail has been one experience that has been apart of... More

After having dinner at the Golden Fleece we spotted the advertisement for this trail and decided to try it out. We were not disappointed at all as it was a great trail. The guide was very entertaining and informative. He knew exactly how to tell a good story, and even added humor. Absolutely no part of the tour was dull... More

We went to York in February. The nights were cold and dark. We wanted to do the walking tour and the Terror Tour staring at 18:45 seemed to be the best idea. Daniel, the tour guide informed us that he will take the money towards the end. There were about 20 people in the group and the tour lasted almost... More

This was a " on the spur of the moment" thing and turned out to be a very good and interesting tour, the guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining it was a pleasure to be there on a very cold evening. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Well done.
