Always hang out here in summer. You can't drink here though so don't get caught with a cheeky bottle of wine! They check ALL the time.

This is a beautiful garden where you can walk through the ruins of a church, trees and flowers, and you can enjoy trying to take photos of squirrels and birds. On Sunday it was very animated (there was even a medieval show) but we returned on Monday morning, and it was a peaceful place.

Turn off one of York's busiest streets and you will be in a beautiful park with pathways, gardens and fine old buildings. look at the ruined walls, visit the Museum or look out over the River. A greta place to relax and recharge. Then back into the bustle of York!!

These gardens are very nice to spend some time relaxing when the weather is good, the Abbey ruins also help to enhance the experience as you can imagine them back in history when they were still in use.

A great spot for a picnic on a summers day or for people watching anytime! The Abbey ruins provide a perfect photo backdrop and you can stroll along the riverbank for extra interest. Couldn't find any toilets though. A bit inconvenient!
